Nice phone call tonight......, should be getting my car back on Thursday, totally agree with Mighty Arsenal, they are very knowledgeable and I hope its just a blip. I'm very keen to change this thread into a very positive one for API. I've been involved in Motorsport for 20 years and understand how important reputation is.

Good man, that's the exact phone call I'm waiting for. Was told last week should be running by end of this week but going by the previous time frames I've been given I'm expacting a couple of weeks still haha agree with you on the reputation part. It's everything these days, there reputation is what made me choose api for the build in the first place. Hopefully won't be long now though, keep us updated on how the car is once you got it though mate. Just can't wait to get mine back and get back out in it !!

Well my car ended up at a local garage as I got an engine management light come on six days later. It proved not to be anything API had done (Turned out to be lights related bizarely enough). However one of the gearbox seals was leaking so API had to send a new seal to local garage.

I realize stuff happens and it is just one of those things. API have also promised to foot the bill to fix the issue.

As to how it goes.. bloody quick. When I have it :/

yeah make you right there, there's always the possibility something like that could go wrong but fair play to them in footing the bill, rather not happen in the first place but hopefully wont be to major, what work did you have done ?

It went in for a gearbox rebuild, service and also a remap. The remap makes it feel like a completely different car.

I got the car back on Saturday, sounded awesome when they picked me up from the train station, runs well but has a running in map on it at the moment, I've done 350 miles so far and I'm truthfully loving it. Have been very helpful over the last week, kept me informed and reduced the stress. Ill post back when it's re mapped in a couple of weeks. Checking it daily for leaks and is not used any oil yet, which I'm surprised at after a rebuild.

I use Mark Thwaites at TDR Developments, Warwick

Just had a HG (and other usual bits and bobs - clutch etc) on my Forester STi and the job was nothing short of perfect

He said 2 weeks and it was bang on time

He detailed the pricing in an email and it was spot on in the final invoice

I went down mid work and had a look at my engine all in bits and took some nice pics and when I picked up the car the engine bay was pristine (had been steamed). All the clips and nuts and bolts he had taken off and refitted looked as if they hadn't been touched - in fact looked brand new

The engine has covered 2,000 miles now and is going strong and burns zero oil (less than it did before)

He also looks after my Type R and has rebuilt the gearbox and diff - both going strong thousands of hard miles later

Mine's not the black crank

Been waiting nearly 15 weeks on an engine build that was told would take 4-6 weeks, getting ridiculous now!! Nothing I can do but wait, each time I think I'm close there's another reason why it's not done yet...

Default Update

Just been back down after running it in for a 1000 miles, had an oil and filter change and then popped over to Mark Thwaites at TDR Developments, Warwick for a new map. WOW it feels like a great car now, brings a smile to my face. Simon has ended up doing a great job and I'm now happy. Ill post back in a 1000 miles.
