Wow, just wow, really.
Well for those that are interested in his well being, I'm pleased to report that he is just fine.
And for those that are not
Personally, I hope he decides to come back and continues to light the place up a little with his threads.
At the end of the day he's a lot more interesting than the vast majority on here and starts a hell of a lot of threads that get people talking, which is way more than I can say for his detractors.

the only thing he lit up was the touch paper for more bitching threads with his incendiary comments which generally centres on slagging off this country and everyone in it at any given opportunity, calling everyone a tw@t or **** if they had a different opinion and of course correcting spelling mistakes. My opinion of him sank lower when he started make devisive remarks of my ethnicity.

There's a caring and considerate and thoughtful side to Chris that I discovered when I was going through a challenging time a few years back. He and I used to be at each other's throats, but after a couple of honest pms we became quite good cyber pals. If you're reading, Chris, I hope you're well and trust you'll come back when you're ready.
Thing with internet is, that people can just vanish like a cigarette smoke ring in thin air. Internet isn't a contact living (reference: Robbie William's song). We don't know people in person, their whereabouts and their real life circles that could report on their wellbeing etc. All we know is that they live in our computers, they sometimes show the evidence of their existence by their posts and vanish for as long as; as per their circumstances and their free choice.
If you have had a good connection and some common grounds with someone, you're bound to miss them.

Also, in real life, one could receive clarifications on people's unexplained disappearances, repair the misunderstandings, disagreements with them etc. But on internet, you don't know if that's possible; on just one-to-one cyber connection basis, when you don't even know people's faces ffs- nevermind knowing if they're physically ok. Your internet 'friends' can simply stop communicating with you (and others) and disappear for whatever reason (sharable or personal), which they don't need to explain to you, and they're in control of their own 'log off' button.
Anne Robinson with "You're the weakest link, good bye!" catchphrase comes to mind; in order to describe such actions of the disappeared ones.
So, there are pluses of this internet 'friendships'. You don't have to explain fekk all to anyone.
