I watched this on the morning tv,
Did anyone see the cycling commioner for London being interviewed?
The interviewer made a very valid statement regarding thats some of the
responsibilty was with the cyclists, with regards to them not obeying
traffic signals, jumping red lights etc.
The cycling commisioner totally ignored the question, saying that this
( bars and mirrors) is the thing that would reduce cyclists deaths.
It was so blatent, even Mrs360 picked up on it straight away lol

Echos my thoughts really; These new rules probably won't make much difference to overall road deaths.
Banning the use of headphones and mobiles probably would make a bigger difference (if it were obeyed)

...Pedestrians are very much the same. They cross the roads where it seems the most annoyance can be caused . Cross roads without checking and wearing headphones. I have nowt against those, but people cant just put them on and expect the whole traffic community to make allowances...
When driving; How many time has a pedestrian wearing headphones obliviously strayed into your path (stepped off footpath without looking), where the only thing that prevented them getting hurt was evasive action by you, the driver. And had you not done anything, they'd not even know what hit them!
Weekly occurance for me; mainly joggers with head phones. Also kids texting.

Blind spot mirrors have already been fitted to hgv's for years,but one very helpful mirror is the front view blind spot mirror.And I can tell you from personal experience the amount of cyclists and pedestrians that creep around trucks without any thought or awareness.yep let's ban trucks from London so I won't have to go anymore horahhhh,and flood the city with thousands of transit vans to deliver the food and goods you all rely on everyday to live,be prepared to pay more for it also.oh and iv'e been driving class 1 hgv's for ten years all over the UK and Europe,never had and incident with a cyclist and two minor traffic accidents both no fault.but had plenty of the idiots on bikes who think it's smart to sneak down the inside of my truck and straight directly across the front of it.If it wasn't for the front view blind spot mirror I would not even know they were there.its about time these people also had taken some self responsibility around large vehicles and on the roads.Just to add even with the blind spot mirrors and do your checks before some of these idiots pop out from nowhere or will still sneak around the truck regardless.
