Lovely. 3 and a half years left on the STI for me, so should be timed very well for getting into a 3yr old FRS. I grew up lusting after an Escort Cosworth but in reality they're nowhere near as good or capable a car as what I've got. Finally we might just be getting a proper successor.

Shaping up quite nicely Might finally be a true replacement for the Impreza.

You could put any number of people in any number of those premium hot hatches & by far the biggest difference that would make a mockery of any statistics would be driver ability.

I do love it when people ,as in that article, talk about marginal power/performance figures between different cars. You will hardly ever get to use that last 10-20hp , 5-10mph or 0.5sec 0-60 in the real world.

I bet Ford can't get them ready quick enough at that price point. Just hope the hyper hatch bubble is still going strong when they finally hit the roads. The competition will no doubt be upping their performance for a facelift model at the same time, all good news for us petrol heads regardless of which marque we like.
Get ready for a sea of baby blue Focus RS's everywhere in 2016 lol

The new ford rs is a lovely motor but that's a lot of cash for a focus, I was considering a used rs for around 20k. I can't believe how well they hold their value and I bet the new rs will hold its value the same,so for that point of view it's a good choice.
I took out the new civic type r the other day, great looking car and lovely interior. I didn't like the torque steer much as I love the traction of my Impreza and mine still felt quicker, but it's not all about the performance.
I would probably consider an Audi rs3 or golf r over the focus. I drove the golf r aswell which was lovely and sounds the nuts! It's all down to personal choice.

it will be interesting to see what supply / demand is like initially

Late August id imagine
although I reckon a few peeps will try to profit and will try to sell one with a £1000 deposit for £2000 to keen buyers
