Well I've just put my name down for a Focus RS!!
Popped down to the local Ford garage and put name down for interest in the 2016 RS Focus.
Anyone with any insider info??? Most think April 2016 and circa £39+k Been told £35k and February but reckon cloud cookco land. Tony mods its s general enquiry but feel free to move in other Marques |
I reckon you are right on price - between £35k and £39k !
Now it has four wheel drive they will raise the price closer to the RS3 and A45AMG. A basic RS3 is £40k so I'm going for £36,995. |
40 grand for a chaved up Ford focus !!!!!! Holy moly !
|
i was told it's 2ltr not 2.5 5 cylinder not sure how true that is though
|
I hate the german way off making the hot models look like the rest of the range so hats of to ford for going balls out with the rs.
Only thing i dont like is all the unpainted plastic, difuser front intakes etc |
It's got a drift button!

Subaru seem to have lost their way and not sure which camp to lie in. |
is the RS interior the same as all the other focus cars in the range?
That's what put me off the last RS..... it felt like being in the wife's Ghia TDci ;) |
The seats will be different I think, more Recaro based.
Possible pricing leaked; http://carbuying.jalopnik.com/leaked...-pr-1720764092 In theory it should be priced lower than the Golf R imho as that is THE benchmark in the category, even though the fanbois will still flock to buy it no matter what the price!! |

Nice one Tony!

I do like the idea of these. Turbo, 4wd, 5 doors.. Perfect for my liking.
Be interested to see what they are like in the metal. My mate had the mk2 and I used to really like them until I saw his up close. At least this one has decent looking brakes. |
Dull, in a word, looks no better than the current ST - and yes i have seen one in the Flesh.

Took these iPhone pics at Goodwood FOS...

Quite like it.
As others have said though, interior is dodgy, hate those vertical air vents for some reason. |
Ticks a lot of boxes for me - 4WD, 5dr, plenty of power, trick torque distribution system, not too bad on cost.
Unfortunately I can't afford a new one unless some stupidly cheap lease deals come about like on the the Golf, BMW, etc. but in a few years time :D Glad they've finally done a 4WD version, despite the clever differential the MK1/2 always seemed like a huge compromise on what it could have been. Well done Ford. |

So horizontal vents are better for many reasons :) |
I like the look of it!
Have they confirmed it's going to be a 2ltr turbo? What power are they expected to be? |
2.3

What colours they offering? I personally love the mk2 in green. I think the blue does look like an st with a spoiler but so did the mk2. Im not a fan of the golf r or rs3 but undecided on this at moment. Love new civic type r even tho not 4wd. The ep3 type r punched well above its weight so who knows in near future once mapping and after market handling upgrade have been developed the type r might become hothatch king again?

The early reports seem to suggest the car would be priced at circa £30k. Great buy at that price. Pushing £40k though is too much IMHO

UK 300 @ £30,999 & USA 1000 @ $29.999 UK 200 @ £33,999 & USA 800 @ $32.999 most likely UK 100 @ £34,999 & USA 750 @ $33.999 UK 60 @ £38,999 & USA 400 @ $36.999 Also hints that a stripped 2.0l WRC special edition may be on cards depending on sales of first model. Also a FIA homologated £85,000 Don't you just love rumours :luxhello: Tony |
I still reckon that it will be a very well-kitted out £36,995 or a 'basic' £33k.
Both Golf R and RS3 new orders re really buoyant at the moment so they'll have zero problem selling in the price range between the two. |
Seen it in auto express toned down from mk 2 ,good for some people but cant say i was that impressed

U.S. Reckon they Will get an "early bird " bargaini. $1.5k off list price on pre-orders making a Base version cheap @ $29,999. Price back up after launch. More interestingly the possibility of 2.0L WRC competition Spec version for Homologation purposes. Tony |
