This!!!
Age is merely a mental concept.

My pet hate, and I detest this so much, is people who say your metabolism slows down after 30...people just say this to justify their weight increase and beer belly!!! Utter bull poo! It's just at 30 you stopped playing 5-aside, had a kid, started watching more TV...nowt to do with metabolic rate...everything to do with a lazier/slower lifestyle.

People will say stupid things to make themselves feel better inside and to justify their own lifestyle.
Sod 'em

...In saying that...I am 36 and do need a double hip replacement

That would be the way it worked if a load of cars were purchased in one go I suppose. I ran two cars for years building full NCB on both, then bought a cheap run around (cheap to insure) and let the NCB build up on that. Once full NCB arrived a 996 Porsche Turbo arrived too, the NCB was transferred to it and the cheap run around was re insured at full whack, but still cheap.

Despite the attractions of a single policy (although no one will include a much modified Impreza as far as I can see) each car is individually insured, a bit of an admin nightmare but nowhere near as bad as staying on top of the MOT's!

I have just read your post and immediately had to join as a new member.

I am 41 and have a 2006 Hawkeye Wide Track completely original. It comes out on dry days every couple of weeks for a fun drive to work. I am lucky enough to drive a new E63 and Golf R but the Scooby is the car I really love and can't sell.

I don't give two hoots what people think about the huge spoiler, rally mud flaps and gold wheels. I've even just ordered some carbon fibre wing mirrors. I don't want to grow up and drive a Volvo!

The older I get the more likely I'll be buying cars that "I'm too old" for.

Couldn't give a donkeys if people think I'm too old for a car, in fact I'd be more likely to purchase it even more.

Going by the demographic of this place, the more pertinent might be 'am i too young to own a scooby'?

I disagree with the 30 comment. Know plenty of people who have hit 30, still as active but had to fight to keep weight off. I can't eat as much rubbish as i did in my teens, without affecting my weight.

But agree with people being more lazy. And loads of mates have bought boring cars just because they have a child on the way?!

I,m 60 in 4 months time and I,m on my 5th Scooby, current one a 05 JDM widetrack with 375+bhp . I nearly swapped it for a C55 AMG last week . I,m looking for a bit more comfort these days so I must be getting old. I still think I,m 25 till I look in the mirror. Steve.

Just to add to the "it doesn't matter" theme, I bought my first Scoob in 1999 when I was 45. Still have my T25 Even drive it occasionally

Mmm.............read post #51

The drug dealer connection was mentioned in an earlier post - it's more like drug takers - I bet blood pressure and cholesterol drugs rank pretty high in posters on this thread?
