Btw did anyone watch that Class of '92 documentary about Salford City? I really enjoyed it so shame only two episodes. I'm not sure about anyone else but i find it hard to watch this current United side, LVG is slowly turning them into one of the dullest sides to watch in the premier league. United have always been about attacking, flowing football where the flair players are allowed to do their thing.
To be honest be glad when LVG has gone, he's not a good fit for United, someone like Jurgen Klopp would have been perfect.
While he remains in charge i see much more for the same for quite some time, Rooney under LVG seems to be un-droppable regardless of how poor his form gets. For me it should be Martial up front as he's the future, i don't understand why he plays 2 holding midfielders either, it's hardly positive.

Never been a fan of Rooney, he was ok when he first came on the scene, but never really fulfilled his potential, not really world class or one I would put side by side with the likes of Messe,Brazilian Renaldo, Pele, Maddona and the list goes on and on.
Ok he's one of the highest scorers for Man U and England, but just doesn't light a fire under me, I'd rather watch Ian Wright, Henry, Gazza or even the famous goal hanger Linecar for shear entertainment value.
Rooney has never been one to set games alight, apart from the occasional flash of brilliance (Volley against Newcastle). But he is incredibly hard working, committed and very good at everything. There isn't any area of his game that is lacking. Maybe he could score more goals, but a lot of that is to do with confidence and a lack of service. I think rooneys current slump is more to do with what's around him, rather than his lack of ability. He needs to be given a free role behind a central striker, where he can be free to drop deep, create and get forward when he needs to. But have we got a good enough striker to play in front of him?

I'm not sure which Wayne Rooney your on about but it can't be the one that plays for Manchester United and has been in decline for at least the last couple of seasons, one of his main assets was his pace but that has been in decline for a while.
His first touch can be poor, and when i say poor it can be schoolboy standard, he mis-controls the ball a lot and loses possession. He's excellent at giving the ball away, he's got that down to a fine art. This hasn't been happening just this season, he's been in decline for at least the last couple of seasons.
Man United could get a hell of a lot more for their money than Wayne Rooney, he's been reported as being on around £300k a week, give me Thomas Muller over him any day of the week.

Admittedly hes not been at his best at resent seasons, but how many strickers track back in defence and play a key part in defending and attack, not many, there's alot of strikers that do next to no defending, to me Rooneys best feature is his work rate. Midfield is where he belongs.
I was nice to watch Unicef charity football match, see a glimpse of what ex world class players can do.

No
However as we all know that's not the way football contracts work, players and agents demand the market value +, at signing on time, the contracts valid for 'X' years, if the players don't sign lengthy contracts you loose them for nothing
When players are playing out of their skin every week were happy to have them, the minute they dip people want to offload, it's just not that easy
for me I'm a Rooney fan, I'd rather have had him than lost him to another club
Is Martial worth the figure we paid for him as a 19 year old, 'Er yes' and his day rate for a 19 year old will be obscene
I bet Citeeh fans are saying, f()ck's sake why did we pay millions for Sterling, look at his weekly pay, he's been poor since arriving there, but again market forces dictated his transfer fee and day rate
look recently at Falcao, Torres, Carrol player after player that's earned zillions and never gave a decent return

The annoying thing is i would like to see Vardy break Van nistelrooy's record, but on the other hand don't want them to win. I'd agree on the draw though. Depends who's fit for the game.
That was a very good win on saturday considering the amount of players that were missing, 2 wide players up front, a winger at right back and no recognised left back in the starting 11. It didn't help losing Herrera fairly early on, United were well on top up until that point then they had to change their formation to 3 at the back to accomodate losing Herrera. I liked how United came back after it went 1-1, a good away 3pts.

If the price was right then yes.
Why ?
Because he's a genuine world class player and he's far better than anything we currently have, he's a match winner, he frightens the opposition and he's a proven world class goal scorer. He's probably still got around 2 - 3 years left at the top, apart from Martial we don't have one outfield attacking player that excites me, we used to have United teams where 1 - 11 would excite you never mind just one player.

Even at £50-60 million I'd take him back. He might have no resale value, but the merchandising would go through the roof. And he's worth a fair few goals a season, not to mention the confidence boost around the club. He could also teach the younger players a lot.
