All I am going to say is Mata needs to grow a pair. And a speedy recovery to Shaw - had to look away. Could tell as soon as you saw the PSV players walking away grimacing.

Best wishes to Luke Shaw, i just hope it's not as bad as first feared.

Mata is never United standard, neither is Herrera. Until they get a quality, creative midfielder then the likes of Martial and Memphis are going to have to create their own chances like both have done in the last 2 games. LVG's decision to get rid of so many strikers in one go without replacing them is starting to backfire now, we had to rely on a 19 year old teenager tonight who has only previously played a few minutes from the subs bench. Martial should be introduced slowly from the bench as an impact player in the short term, because of our unbalanced team we have no experienced strikers if Rooney gets injured.

When I first saw it I thought it was bone poking throught but I think that was just the top of his shinguard out of place. In the replays his leg looks very floppy and angled above the ankle. And when lying still his foot looked off at an angle.

It's been confirmed that his injury is a double fracture of the right leg, i'd be surprised if he makes the euros next year. You just wish him well, it's going to be a tough and long road back, he comes across as a really decent lad whose been United's best player for me and arguably England's best player in the last game.

Having had the same injury I knew straight away it was bad, didn't look at the replays, horrible seeing someones leg flopping about.

Gutted for the lad, I hope he makes a full recovery as he has been outstanding this season.

It looked grim.
I really hope he makes a full recovery, but I can't see him playing again this season.

Clean break with no complications thankfully, no muscle or ligament damage makes me think he will be back for the start of next season.

No point in rushing him back for the Euro's

He sure is. Has a real air of confidence about him. Couple of goals he has just played mind tricks with the keeper and sent them the wrong way.

Yeh he's a very confident, calm and cool kid. It's best not expecting too much from him as he's still young and learning his trade but he's not made a bad start as he. If we can get some more quality around him his pace and strength will be a big asset for us as one thing we lacked before Tony Marshall signed was out and out pace.

Good luck to him.

Early days, lets not get carried away, especially as we haven't seen anything that would indicate we can win the league and we haven't played anyone with anything about them yet.

The gooners will probably bring us back down to earth next weekend

City did surprise me with result but its all good for us.

Wolfsburg first on Weds. They drew on Sat but did you see their game against Bayern? Bayern 1-0 down at half time. Lewandowski comes on as sub and bags 5 and left the best for last. 7 goals in last 2 games.

I see Di Maria back on form as well. Shame he couldnt get to grips with our league.

In that team in that league, Carlton Cole would be on form

What Aaron said

Sorry I have little time for Di Maria, just a big wet blanket.

Simon, yeah very impressed with Lewandowski with his 5 goals in 9 minutes, puts Ole's 4 in 10 minutes against Forest in the shade a little. He'd do a job for United

That was a mixed bag tonight, the most important thing was the 3pts which they got.

I was disappointed with Rooney again, poor touches, giving the ball away. Personally i think he's past his best, he doesn't have the same pace these days and he's missing far too many easy chances. He should have buried that sitter which he missed. Memphis was also disappointing, too many times the cross would hit their player or their would be no end product.

Martial's movement is very good, he caused Wolfsberg a lot of problems. We need someone better in the middle that can deliver that killer pass and link with him a lot more, that's isn'yt Mata or Rooney.

Defending was crap for their goal. I know its makeshift but even so 2 players on the same player and he got past way too easy.

I am not Mata fan but thought he had a good game especially the knock on to Smalling and the well taken pen. Schweinsteiger got us going forward faster but a lot of the time he had no options other than Martial. No idea why LVG to him off when we needed to keep posession to see out the game.

Rooney seems to be a yard off the pace. Not sure what is up with him but hardly saw him last night.

Memphis looked a real threat and wanting to take defenders on. Thats what we need not safely pass it sideways or back.

Anyon else get annoyed by Hargreaves commentary last night? Anyone would think he was a united legend the way he was harping on.

I did warn people not to get carried away, not even close to being close to the finished article.

At lest that will stop the silly stories of United players thinking they can win the league

I wonder if LVG is big enough to drop Rooney as let's face it he needs to be dropped, a lot of our attacks break down with him giving the ball away, his first touch and control for a player on a reported £300K a week is poor to say the least.

I'd go with Martial up front where he's already proven that he can get goals on a regular basis, he's by far our most dangerous player and bring Memphis back in onto the left.

I thought we looked solid in defence against City apart from a few dodgy moments from Jones, Smalling goes from strength to strength, i thought Rojo had one of his best games in a United shirt. I still think we need more quality in the centre of midfield, someone that can give that killer pass or go past players and link up with a striker.

Hmmmmm
Rooney certainly has lacked sharpness, and it really showed yesterday
