Cheers they have settled in nicely now going to get it tracked again this week after ive done some minor adjustments to the height. They ride really well, i still have them on soft for while they break in and there not harsh at all, really happy with them.

middle fingers up on not caring

Default Turbosmart dual port, Black WRX interior, Miltek Turbo back!

Been doing abut more work to the wrx this month so thought id update my thread.

First of I bought another turbosmart dump valve, really like the quality of these and as I got it for a good price I couldn't resist!

I have since removed it as I felt like it was using too much fuel... When I get my car remapped I will talk to the mapper to see if its worth keeping or not. When fitted it wasn't too loud just a nice subtle tshhh

Then i managed to pick up a blob eye interior for £30!! very happy with that as ive never been a fan of the grey hawkeye interior... it realy does make it look like a base model! so im much happier with the black seats as when i get my recaros it will all match. I still have to fit the door cards but I still need to find some blob eye handle inserts.

The covers had a few stains on them so i decided to remove the covers and give them a wash as i wanst in a rush to fit them. It was well worth doing as they've come out like new but I must stress it was a verrrrry tedious job! Theres over 200 hog clips to undo so it may take you a few sessions to remove and install!

Had a good read through there.

You're a brave man removing the seat covers, I plan on just Wetvac'ing my new seats once they arrive.

Cars looking much better than when you first picked her up!

Matt.

Cheers matt

Ive done alot more work to it since my last post i just havnt bothered to update my thread.

It has now been remapped which is great!

The seats weren't that bad of a task tbh it took a day or two too complete and my fingers were sore from the hog clips but it was well worth it!

It helped that i still had the beige seats in my car so i could take my time, it may not be ideal if you only have one set of steps.

I will have to update the thread when i get the chance!

Cheers Matty

Happy days, get the updates going!

Yeah don't think I could be assed with removing the covers. I'm just going to use some APC, a leather brush and a wetvac, should come up like new .

i got it of ebay from here

it took a while to come but it is really good quality paint, possibly the best can paint ive used... I really recommend the colour coded primer! It made a huge difference!

Well for those who have been reading my thread you know i've had the miltek exhaust fitted and the car remapped for a few months now but originally I didn't update the thread due to time constraints so I thought id update it now before I do some other things to the scoob

So this is dating back to before the new year when I booked my car in at group B motorsport for a remap. The main reason i was remapping my car was due to the engine management light being on as I removed the secondary air valves some months before, I was getting silly quotes to have the EML codes deleted so decided that now would be the time to get and exhaust and have a remap..

Now I didn't want to fit the exhaust and drive the car for a few weeks without a remap as I didn't want to have detonation or to be running rich or lean.. So my plan was to fit everything 1 day before dyno day as I had time of work. Now bare in mind I have had the miltek sat in my garage for 2+ months.. It was at this point 1 days before the map that I decided that i NEED heat wrap! Originally I wasn't going to heat wrap it as I thought I could make the oem heat shields work but I then decided against it.. And this is where the madness begins

So the only place I know that had DEI heatwrap instock was Demon Tweeks in wrexham which is 60 miles from me.. No problem I thought I have loads of time.. Of I go to pick up the heat wrap and get back some 3 hours later (hour each way plus and hour looking at everything in the shop )

£130 lighter we have heat wrap..

Name: DSCF4884_zps3r7ngcrx.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 139.1 KB

1st thing I then do is prepare my exhaust and cat for wrap.. Now for some reason the flanges on my miltek don't seem to be stainless steel as they've got a bit rusty so first thing i do is clean them up and give them a nice coating of Hi temp paint to make taking it of in the future alot easier

Then I started the process of wrapping the cat/down pipe. Now i must say this was one of the worst things ive ever had to wrap, the wrap just didn't want to sit nicely on the cat itself, it was a real pain as it kept sliding over the flanges of the cat which did not provided a nice overlap to keep heat in.

Anyway 2-3 hours later shes all wrapped and im pretty happy with the result overall

Size: 159.7 KB

All this put me really far behind, its was about 7pm and my remap was booked in for 1pm the next day and I hadn't even got my old exhaust of yet!

I got the old exhaust of pretty easy until i got to the turbo side.. As the bolts on the downpipe were really tight I had managed to crack one of the nuts of with my spanner but then proceeded to smash my header tank with my elbow which broke one of the return lines

Ive got less than 12hours left to remap and now need to find a replacement header tank! And I cannot fit my exhaust until the morning as the heat wrap is all wet from install and I still need to protect the wrap with the silicone spray

I then spend the next hour or so messaging every ebay member in the north west who breaks scoobs or may have a header tank in hope that someone will get back to me by the morning.. Luckily someone did get back to me and they weren't even a breaker... He was a private seller who had a scoob what had been taken of the road due to a head gasket issue or something like that, as I explained my problem he agreed to sell me the header tank of his sti for £20 as he wouldnt be needing it! I am so thankful for him to this day as he literally saved my car from being parked for a month as Group B will be closing over xmas/newyear

So on the day of the remap I got up super early, siliconed the exhaust wrap, picked up the header tank, fitted the miltek to the scoob rearranged my remap time and then raced to Group B motorsport to get it mapped before new year

It was nothing short of a miracle i got it all done!

I have some videos of the mapping session so will get them edited and post up my figures

Great read, love the wheels I've been toying with the idea of getting some for mine. Where is group B motorsport and why did you choose to use them for the remap?

Not updated my thread in a while as ive been quite busy. Ive recently ordered some new parts which will totally change my wrx so I want to get my thread upto date before i go any further

The updates posted are what ive done to the car in chronological order.

Managed to get hold of some face life door cards in black. Really happy with these as I HATE the stock wrx interior with a passion, especially having a crystal grey car I think the beige is to overwhelming

Also got a bargin on a set of half cloth half leather recaro sr seats. There in great condition except the drivers side has a few rips and wear to the leather but I should be able to sort these out no problems

These will suit the interior really well now its all black

Not updated this thread for a while as ive been busy but heres what ive done since last time and ill try to add any technical information later

Recaros have been repaired and fitted, It took a while to find the correct subframes for the car and ive also used subaru airbag resistors to cancel the airbag light on dash.

18 x 9 Fiffteen52 turbo macs have been fitted with Pirelli Pzero tyres, need a wider size but these were available for free so have ran them while i test the setup and all has worked well.

Godspeed J hook discs and pads fitted, also rebuilt and painted the calipers neon yellow
