Simple!

Unless alpines new one you have too, the American units you need all the relays and bypass switches to get working pass the handbrake.

No problems for mine at all. I cut back all the excess wiring from the Subaru to Double DIn then the Alpine loom to Double DIN and joined them into a short loom. Put the handbrake signal wire directly to the maim loom earth and job done. Just need to set it up next time I sit in the car.

Been thinking about getting one of these, is possible to connect my 160gb iPod classic (with old type connector) to this unit as well as connect my phone via bluetooth in the normal way to stream from that too. Thanks

If your talking about the pioneer sph da-120, then yeah I have both my iPod and phone connected, there's 2 USB ports only one does CarPlay though. Bear in mind these ports are at the back of the unit so you have to run cables where you want them.

Get the optional CA-IW-UNI.002V cable so you can route the USB ports to a dual socket somewhere. Makes it easier to switch and cleaner for installation.

Don't have a link since the Pioneer website seems to have changed recently.
I did however get this info from my local Pioneer Dealer, so Halfords etc will also be able to order it for you.

Spotify works on mine. You need to scroll to the right when your on the app menu otherwise you wouldn't see it.

No it doesn't have a built in hard drive.

But you could save your music to a USB and leave it plugged in.

£530 fitted that's a joke, you can buy the stereo for £288 and fit it yourself the lead for steering wheel controls is £2.50.

An 08 also need a 2din installation kit, aerial conversion cable and OE USB retention kit if he wants. Maybe that's why it's higher ?

I thought that because the unit works through your phone that whatever update is on your phone works through the head unit ? I've got the same headunit myself and love it.

As far as I'm aware. You only need hdmi if your gonna use the appradio mode through an Apple av adaptor

What do you want from the headunit mate ? I always plug my USB lightning cable into my iPhone when I'm in my car mate, as that basically allows me to use iTunes Apple maps etc on my headunit through my 6.

You can download the dash command app from App Store but I've never tried setting it up to be honest

But it sounds like it's all to do with appradio. Your basically need to run a hdmi from the 2nd port on the back of the unit and then plug an Apple av adaptor Into the hdmi, then using a lightning cable you plug your phone into the other port on the adaptor. Then it should start the app radio mode on the headunit
