even if you could somehow make it to 300hp by forging everything inside the engine, would the 1.6 gearbox hold it? How would you stop it? By the time you've upgraded gearbox/hubs/driveshafts/brakes/shocks - the STI is cheaper and a much better platform. Hell even a WRX will hit 300 which a few bolt ons and a remap.

Your project just doesn't make sense to me, if your shooting for 500hp then start with an STI, if your shooting for 300hp then start with a WRX. If you like what a scooby looks like then continue to drive your 1.6 until you can save up the cash for a turbo car.

You would still need a turbo chassis though. You would be better of buying a turbo car from the start. If you forge it with uprated turbo injector exhaust decent tune etc you will have a pretty potent car. That would be the route that makes most sense. You would be trying to do what Subaru did from the factory.

The only reason is you would want to put a turbo in what you have is for cheap insurance, or you have a mint condition low milage chassic, if its neither then buy a turbo with a wrecked engine and drive the 1.6 as a daily driver untill project finished.

If I turbo the ej16 I will run it with the ej20r gearbox and wrx driveshaft-hubs-brakes-etc. I'm in the I'm not in the uk and where I live There's only few real classic sti bealive or not the last time I saw an sti was before 8 years the last time I saw 2.5rs was before 10 years the care here is very rare. I give up to put ej20r into my car now I have 2 choise turbo my ej16 or wait long time then buy sti maybe until this time I forget about the whole project and stick with rb engines. Thanks anyway
