Update:

I have been in contact with Andy @ Williams Motor Sport (WMS)

After a few discussions we have come up with the following package to be built for the car.

Turn around time will be about 4 weeks.

2.1 stroker engine
To run a compression ratio of 8.4.1

Subaru Close deck block
Block chemical cleaned/blasted before assembly
Block Re-bored and faces skimmed
Block machined for rear thrust conversion
Block/Heads machined to take 14mm head studs
Mahle 2618, 92.5mm forged stroker pistons (Hi boost & Nos suited)
Williams steel con rods, Heat treated & shot peened
ARP 2000 con rod bolts
Ej257 heat treated crank
New crank seals
ACL race series main bearings
ACL race series big end bearings

I will be keeping my current V3/4 heads as they are port polished and have no problems, how ever they will be sent up to Andy to strip clean and then re build using the following:

SuperTech Inconel exhaust valves
Nitrated inlet valves
Seats re-cut as required
New valve stem seals
Heads re-shimmed
AS-Performance Custom 14mm head studs
Cosworth or Rcm head gaskets

There will be other small bits such as new rocker cover gaskets and various seals etc basically everything they use whilst building new engines.

I do know of people running circa 500hp on Cosworth 11mm head studs on semi closed deck blocks and are fine, but personally I didn't feel comfortable going down this route all though its cheaper to do so.

So I have opted for a closed deck block with 14mm head studs for future proofing knowing that my engine is capable off running more power etc then what I intend to do so hopefully it will be reliable as even the pistons/rods used in this kit are good for a 650hp car.

The engine will arrive at BRW Performance fully assembled as a long engine, where all ancillaries will be fitted to engine and dropped into the car.

I have asked for various pictures off the engine build along the way so can update the thread so will be doing that if & when I receive them.

Update:

So engine is now removed from the car.

All parts what will be used on new engine being stripped off.

Heads now removed & ready to send off to Andy to strip & rebuild with new parts.

Few random bay shots, its to be cleaned up before dropping new block in.

I have also ordered Group N engine mounts as this had standard ones fitted along with Group N sump gasket/Sealant and various other small bits.

The way I am hoping to have the car set up this time is a bit different, so the Nismo 740z would have maxed out, So got a set of re-flowed yellows from Lateral Performance what are 900cc

Update:

Just a random update on a few bits Iv done whilst waiting on engine to be completed.

Slight delay with engine as WMS use AS Performance for block work such as the modification to block for 14mm studs etc, and since they have been closed progress has been a little slow but all being well engine will be fully assembled by next week.

Fitted the Carbon Morette headlamps, Yet to buy some air ducts for inners when I can find the correct fitting ones.

Also fitted the 22B side vents what I had for a while now it's a Genuine set and not a fibre glass copy as most out there.

Seen a facelift gear k*ob up for sale so purchased that as I have the older style one fitted atm.

Roof flap now painted & fitted, not the best pics of it but here:

Got some Volk Rays CE28N alloys for the car, lightweight ftw.

Also gone a plate transfer to a HKS plate after the tuning company in Japan, this was mainly done due to people knowing my old scoob on this plate, so the rep will live on with this car

The plates are in 3D carbon gel.

Contacted ATP turbos in the states and got a Garett 0.82 housing to replace the smaller one I have now, I thought seeing as gone down the 2.1. Stroker route may as well try freeing up abit more power if possible.

Seeing as the ApRacing callipers are going on the front I got a set of Brembo rears callipers with new drilled & grooved disc with red stuff pads to be fitted, supplied by MB Developments.

More to follow...

Update:

Collected the car with new engine fitted and have been doing some running in miles, it's going well so just wanted to say a, Big thanks to "BRW Performance" in Hull, for there time/effort and for being patient with me changing the agreed spec every other week!!

Excellent communication from BRW with updates and pictures regularly sent over to me with quality workmanship, I couldn't fault it in any way & I am very fussy when it comes to having the car done right!!

Those of you who have seen this thread along the way will know that the car was initially built up around the forged bottom end what I had purchased it with but didn't do as well as I had hoped it would.

So after the countless hours Tim aka (Tweaks) spent setting the car up and making sure everything was right I had the boys pull it all apart again and fit my new stroker engine and fit all ancillaries once again!!

This was no problem for them and was swiftly sorted, I can honestly say these guys took care off my car as you would do your own.

Very happy & well pleased with the service highly recommended

New engine dropped in and ancillaries being fitted:

Car loaded up on route home:

Landed home & she went for her first wash in a long time!!

Random pics off the car:

Strut brace ends will be going wrinkle black and so will the header tank when I get a chance and a few small tidy up jobs left.

Light coloured wheels are not easy to keep clean especially with the PF pads dust, she needs another valet...

More updates to follow once have made a few changes to the car and mapping is done.

Thank you for reading.

Cheers mate, Bonnet raisers were fitted to get clearance on IC pipe catching the underside off bonnet as inlet has pretty chunky thermal spacers fitted and the new pipes had been fabricated so had to find a way to work around what we had.

Yhh good shout on the vent I was thinking if I could get hold of a nice reverse one may just fit it

Update:

Hi guys abit slow with the updates, I just aint had the chance to do a write up as have been really busy.

So after covering around 1100 miles I had dropped the car back down at BRW for a few finishing touches.

BRW had done the first oil changes but I had to do the 500 mile change, This was done using Shell Helix semi synthetic oil and genuine black filter.

The 1000 mile oil change was due so this was carried out at BRW using Silverline high performance 10W 50 oil with a Subaru genuine black filter.

Spark plugs were done about 1500 miles ago but to be on the safe side I just ordered a fresh pack of NGK 7B to be fitted before mapping.

The only thing I picked up on during the running In period was car was getting fuel surge exiting round about on boost, so this needed rectifying straight away.

So I ordered the following:

1. 1.5l swirl pot by Ellis Fabrications
2. Bosch 044 external fuel pump
3. Fuel lab inline 40 micron filter
4. All fittings & Teflon braided lines supplied by Torques.
Opted for the Teflon lines so don't have problems later on with lines perishing due to meth use etc.

Few pics attached:

Still baffled as to why it was getting surge with a Aeromotive 340lph In-tank got me asking questions, only for a friend to point out if a OE sock was used with the new pump, Which was not the case as new pump was fitted with new sock supplied with it.

I'm pretty sure this was the issue as the aftermarket socks are no way as big as the OE ones.

So started searching for the sock which proved difficult as Subaru nor ICP sell them with out a pump, but luckily managed to get hold off a next to new condition one from Pole Position UK, so the bigger OE sock is now also fitted.

Fitted now are 900cc injectors done by lateral, as didn't want to be maxing out on the Nismo 740s what were currently fitted.

Also purchased was a new external waste gate diaphragm and spring from Turbo dynamics as the old one seem to be loosing pressure,So with the new springs the combined rating is good for 2.4 bar, not that we intend to run past 2.1 "ish"

Also fitted a Drycell Odyssey PC680 race battery, Boot mounted.

Random summer pics:

MAPPING:

Car was road mapped but had a small niggle with the external waste gate coming off from the slip joint on the up pipe.

Its an RCM kit what has a slip joint on up pipe and bolts into down-pipe were it recirculates, How ever we have changed this set up to a atmospheric screamer pipe so no longer goes back into down pipe.

So with that re-occurring problem late night on the road Tim still managed to crack on and get a map sorted on the car, drives amazingly on the roads now cant fault it at all.

On the Dyno the figures were:

394.5 Wheel horse power @ 1.7 bar boost on V power map.

The plan now is to get the waste-gate pipe welded into up pipe as it no longer needs to be a slip jointed set up, & then run more boost plan is around 2 - 2.1 bar and also map on meth.

Will update again soon, Thanks for reading

Wicked, what does 394whp convert to bhp?
Yeah get a blob of weld on screamer, that will stop it flying off on motorway lol

I was told circa 465 bro and yhh will be having it welded in place now as no need for it to be a slip jointed set up, Looking for a Syvecs atm

Ah that's decent then, 500+ easy then at 2 bar and more on meth, so just where you wanted it?
Mans always go for syvecs in end lol, I'll keep my eyes open for you

Yep it's a descent figure that many would be chuffed with but personally it's not where I want it, For the spec of The car it needs to be seing around 520/540bhp on its meth map, So there will Defo be more coming from this soon.

Ideally should have just got a Syvecs when changed over from the Motec but I just went with Tims first suggestion at the time as just wanted the car finished & on the road.

ESL is descent as does the all the basics, Al/Lc Switchable maps, Flat foot shifting etc but as the saying goes Syvecs is just the bollux haha

lol, you should see that figure as i said, just over 500 at 2 bar and add meth and 550 ish i reckon.
Youre only at 1.7 bar currently so it's possible
