I think that's pretty debatable. The main winners in any present-day exploitation that might be going on in Africa seem to be their own corrupt rulers, and as you pointed out yourself, the Chinese.

Today on French TV, an agreement reached for more cooperati.on between French and UK govts.

Apparently, the French don't have enough police at Calais to cope........yeah, because they continually turn a blind eye to the crimes that the migrants are carrying out, all of which ought to result in deportation.

So.......in about a month, get ready for Cam-Moron to say, "We'll take this lot, but the NEXT lot are YOUR problem, France........"

 

Its not enough to sort the problem in Calais. We have to look at the reasons so many people are leaving their countries of origin, whether thats through war, famine , poverty and others. Many issues that need to be sorted globally , not just in Calais , and issues, i fear, are not going to be srted in most peoples lifetime on this forum

 

What crimes? Nicking food 'cos they are starving? And where would you suggest they are deported to - Syria?


Someone suggested that the UN establish a small state in a suitable part of Africa where they can live until the ME is sorted, if that ever happens. A tricky logistical problem and a huge amount of support would be required but something as radical as this is needed.
