The UK takes on the 6th most amount of Asylum seekers out of 28 EU Member states. What exactly do you think is 'our fair share'? Let's take Portugal for instance, they took in a grand total of 440, same goes for Croatia.
Oi leave Croatia out of it, there's enough gypsies here already, besides I'm enjoying being the token wog.

May well be ok for those that don't live in such places, but for those that do it's a living nightmare, they're everywhere and up to no good.

Call me racist if you like but when you see the colour of my skin you'll know that's not possible, but I am a realist.

It's not our fault that other countries are so blatantly corrupt, well that's not strictly true because it is ultimately our fault as our system, politicians and demigods made it so, as is usual the common man pays the price, while those in positions of power and wealth continue to live the life of Riley and the rest of us suffer the consequences of their thirst for money and power, regardless of how much they already have.

There is a lot more I would do too but if I wrote it here I'd no doubt be labled as some sort of nut job.

You make sound like we already accept lots, even though the facts say otherwise

Well as someone that voted with his feet 9yrs ago and left the UK I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt my personal experience from what I personally have seen the number of foreigners has increased more than 10 fold.

I don't trust official figures and statistics because I know for a fact that they are manipulated to suit the agenda of those providing them and anyone that thinks otherwise is living in cloud cuckoo land.

It would be nice if you could actually add some content to the discussion.

Classic fact free response.

The stats don't support your argument so they must be false and everyone else is mad....brilliant

I believe it's the OECD that compile the figures, I don't think they have any particular axe to grind on this

My friend you are conversing with a person that travels back and forth across more than half of Europe on a regular basis, via aeroplane and car for the last 10yrs no amount of facts and figures can tell me something different to what I have seen with my own two eyes.

You stick your head in the ground if you want to, I prefer to see what's going to bite me in the ***.

Nope you are just full of hate for Cameron, viewed through that lens then you can (and do) blame him for anything.

Your basic argument on Libya is simplistic to the extreme.

Personally I dislike the fact that we left Syria to disintegrate and allowed 4 million people to live in squalid refugee camps. A policy you are all in favour of BTW.

I don't see how it matters which countries take the asylum seekers in. Once they are granted citizenship in any European country, they will be free to travel throughout the whole EU just as other EU citizens can. It's not going to be about where they are granted asylum, it's about where they go after.

Yep we should have got stuck in and killed 6 million

As for Libya Cameron did go in on the back of protecting civilians when in fact it was a mission to get rid of Gaddafi and the country is worse off for it. Whether I dislike Cameron or not does not change the facts! You think he is some sort of decent bloke which tells me a lot about you!

You still require a passport. And that's years and years down the line after any kind of leave to remain.

A ballpark then? You clearly think we should be taking in more given your fair share comment? Otherwise you're just saying it without even knowing what it means.

I think some people are just a tad bitter that David Cameron won the general election by a clear majority.

As for any more asylum seekers my response would be a clear no. Martin, I don't think its as easy as linking the numbers to gdp. There are other considerations ie our housing shortage, tge size of our Island, how many immigrants we have already, both legal and illegal.

Now that we are rid of those bleeding heart Lib Dems I'm hoping we get a firmer response from this Tory majority govt.

Facts Martin, they suck when you are trying to argue the opposite don't they? And if you are happy to be associated with the self centred Tory ****s on here then I have no problem with that

Actually, if THEY stuck to the rules and the UK ENFORCED the rules, we'd end up with an extremely small number.

It's not asylum seekers that get me, the genuine ones anyway, NOT the ones that have crossed 13 countries to get to the UK, it's the illegals, the economic migrants and those who come here for benefits and to beg...and yes they DO exist, in large numbers.

We CANNOT afford them, sorry.
