Had a phone call this afternoon from Darren the guy who's been looking after me at Torque GT, i was a little bit shocked as most of our conversations have been done via email.
Anyway Darren said that the Spec C has gone for its MOT today and has failed because of cracking side walls on the tyre's, he said its nothing to worry about as they will be getting replaced.
Darren said he was just phoning me to ask me what tyre's i wanted fitted to the car, did i want any particular brand.
I was shocked tbh as i thought that because i direct imported the car then stuff like this would be for me to fund and i was also shocked that they asked as car dealers fit budget brands.
I asked what he thought, Darren said they fit Pirelli P Zero asymmetric tread pattern so that's what is being fitted. Im very very happy, the way im being treated is awesome.
Darren also told me that the alarm has been fitted, clocks converted to mph, fog light done and there was 2 small dents which they have got there dent man to remove.
We spoke for about 1/2 hr, maybe longer and Darren answered everything i asked he even walked over to the car to talk me through everything that the car has fitted. Nothing was to much.
Darren also said he took it for its MOT which is only about 2 miles down the road so it wasn't a full road test, he said the car feels like its going to be quick. The chassis is stiff because of the under body braces the coilovers are hard but are damping adjustable and the car feels nice and tight.
There is a bit of transmission noise because the car has Cusco LSD's and a light weight flywheel, there is also a folder full of all of the mods that have been done to the car which is rare with a car from Japan.
After i put the phone down i think a little bit of wee came out.

The car has Cusco front and read plated LSD's which are noisy as ****, i can here each drive shaft clonking.
I don't know if these need setting up or adjusting.
Its also got a light weight flywheel and a paddle clutch which has a bite point so high its bloody hard to drive.
The pads fitted to the brakes sqeek like **** no matter what speed you are doing.
All in all the clutch and diffs ruin the car, i need help/advice to get someone to look at the car. Whos in Essex/Kent that i can trust???
Pictures from today, dont get me wrong i bloody love the car.

Congrats!! Looks lovely!
If the driveshafts are clonking, it needs to be fixed and not something you can adjust. Hope it gets sorted out soon as I can only imagine it'll dampen the driving experience.

I had a cusco diff in my old car and it used to knock like a b*****d on full lock or at slow speeds but would lock up very nicely in the bends.
My bug spec c has the standard diffs and that knocks a little bit on full lock from the front but nothing major and tbh would change them as its nice as it is. The problem is how rare they are.

Just a guess but guessing this car has seen some track action in Japan, maybe it was someone's toy. Could make it hard to live with as a UK daily.
My advise take it to a track drive it there, yes it won't solve your problem. But it may help you get a feel for the car and in turn understand it better. Which will help you a make a more informed decision regarding the drivability of the diffs etc

I have been following you thread and have been looking forward to seeing photos of your car in the UK.
Your Spec C is in really good condition with some really nice tuning parts fitted.
I would recommend that you remove your brake pads and give them and the Calipers a good clean, and refit the brake pads with Copper Grease.
You can inspect the brake discs at the same time.
If this does not get rid of the squeaking noise you will have to replace the brake pads. I would recommend that you give AS Performance a ring for your new brake pads.
There is no easy fix for your Clutch and Diff issue.
You will have to remove the gearbox and fit a new Clutch. I would recommend a Exedy Pink Box Clutch and sell your old Clutch.
With your Gearbox removed from the car you will have to remove your Plated Diff and refit the factory Diff, this also goes for your Rear Diff.
Or you could buy a second hand Gearbox and Rear Diff from one of the breakers and fit them to your car, and sell your old Gearbox and Rear Diff.

That's a great car and I'm pleased to read this positive feedback about Torque as I'm also waiting for a spec c from them and all that reviews just assure me that I made right decision buying from them

Brodziu what spec c you waiting for?
The problem with putting a box and diff in from a standard car is the diffs and gearbox are different on a spec c which in my opinion makes the car as the box is close ratio etc but will be difficult to find over here especially if its a 17inch non dccd model

Im going to see him on Friday morning so he can give the car a going over and a road test.
But from what ive heard its the way the diffs are and to replace them is going to cost around £3k.
Thanks bud, yes it does, the clutch is the worse bit, going to look at getting it replaced.

Its funny most people spend thousands getting a car track ready, i will need to spend thousands making it better for the road.
A track day wouldn't be a bad idea tbh, Bedford is nice and flat with big run offs.
