It's the championship over for everyone. Nobody will ever remember it as the title won by Lorenzo, more like the title handed to him.
IMO probably the best rider this season, I'd have even said he'd win it if Rossi started as normal but realistically he should be calling for his team mate to be able to battle properly.
He's already losing sponsors down to this season.

I can't see the other riders putting up much of a fight against him, so here's hoping he does it.

It would be great to see the riders behind the front row stick two fingers up at Dorna and leave a gaping gap for him to pass straight down to third for the first corner!

Only a small chance of rain this Sunday, bummer!

I thought that as well, but can't see it happening, although nobody should be in any doubt as to how much VR is worth to MotoGP. If he throws his dummy out and decides to call it a day there will be no winners. They say nobody is as big as the team etc. and the success of a series isn't down to one person, but I'd say VR is an exception to this, many will acknowledge that his presence probably saved MGP from being obscured by WSB. Dorna have a major issue on their hands when he decides to hang his helmet up.

Second that, I thought "if" he won the title this year her might have gone to WSB, first year of the R1 and give that a whirl, has said in the past has fancies wsb before he retires.

I think Ianonne should take Marquez out, leave a big gap for Rossi.

Prob is if Lorenzo wins Rossi has to come second, that would be a tough ask with his usual 4/5 qualifying position. from the back of the grid in a dry race, no chance, trying to get past two hondas that are flying the spanish flag.......

Yes, Rossi's only hope is if the Hondas get in front of Lorenzo, 6th would be easily doable for the goat.

Anyone catch the statement released by the Permanent Beureau? To me it sounds like they are not all together happy with Marquez, going on about fair play and sportsmanship and the need for some rules to be changed.

The investigation said that Marquez wasn't blameless but it couldn't be proved that Marquez deliberately battle with Rossi. Those same data logs that Honda are bleating about saying Marc's front brake was pulled would surely show him rolling off the throttle at points he shouldn't be.

Yeah read bits from it, sounds like if anyone steps out of line they are going to get their **** kicked, but no use to Rossi someone receiving a penalty for the next race..ie first one next year if he loses the title cause Marquez is a c**k.

Sods law says someone random like vinales (hope its not) will make a mistake and take Rossi out on the first corner and it will be a non event

Cant see the Hondas beating Lorenzo, hes been quickest in both sessions today, and I think they will let him through even if they were quicker.

If Marquez had pinned the throttle like he would normally coming out the corner he would have been long gone before Rossi had a chance to move over and run him wide, they were both playing silly buggers.....just one is a lot better at it

The investigation said they believe Marquez was deliberately interfering with Rossi's race. It doesn't matter if they could prove he was or not, the fact is he wasn't breaking any rules by doing so which is why they are hinting at the rule changes. Honda might be able to prove Marquez brake suddenly came on, but it won't prove why it came on. Marquez head hit Rossi's knee, Rossi then moved his knee, and Marquez upper body was shifted to the left. That could well have meant he pulled the brake lever himself by accident, if he had a finger or two hovering over the brake lever.

Of the four 'aliens' I believe Pedrosa to be the most cleanest and highest morales of all of them. I don't believe for one second that he would just let Lorenzo through. Interesting that you pick vinales out, having thought about how the race might unfold and who might offer Rossi least resistance, he will easily make it up to the lesser factory and satellite bikes, three of the Ducati riders are Italian, the two factory Yamahas won't offer much resistance (brad may more so than Pol, as the latter publicly agrees that Marquez was trying to hold Rossi up) which leaves Redding, who Rossi will pass easily, Crutchlow, who will let Rossi past easily (has stated in previous seasons he will not get involved in a title fight) which leaves the two Spanish riders on the suzukis, which is a brand that has no involvement in the whole Marquez/Honda, Rossi/Lorenzo/yamaha current state of affairs, so it might be those two Riders that do make life difficult for Rossi.

Edit: Lorenzo was second quickest in FP1

Actually, I forgot Miller. Now there is a rider that could quite easily take Rossi out on the first corner!

Of course the best outcome would be that Lorenzo DNFs, although I wouldn't wish anyone to crash. He has binned it a few times this season and I think that's where Rossi has had the edge, consistency.

I predict either Lorenzo crashes out or finishes 2nd. I predict Rossi to finish 6th.

Whatever the outcome it's made F1 look like a snooze fest this season.

On the subject of Miller, there's a video of him at last weeks race wheelie-ing one handed out of the pits for fun. Apparently when everyone else was all serious and practicing their starts he wheelied the whole straight beside them lol.

Not having much luck there

Disappointing result in my mind. Marquez could easily have challenged Lorenzo for the position. I believe he didn't on purpose, look how much of a fight he put up against Pedrosa FFS, and Pedrosa would have caught and passed Lorenzo.

The recent antics from Marquez will stick with him for a very long time.

6th wasn't a bad guess, 4th from 22nd was amazing.
As for Marquez - I posted to a MotoGP Facebook group 2 hours ago asking if Marquez could ever earn respect back. 400 comments later the answer is a resounding no!

The spanish train prevailed, disappointing end.

Looked as if Pedrosa gave it a go in the last few laps and Marquez made sure he stayed put. Even Lorenzo has commented on the fact MM didnt try and pass him, poor....

Difficult one to read, the Honda was harder on tyres at Valencia and Lorenzos looked fooked at the end. Marquez apparently had been given a firm dressing down about his antics with Rossi post Sepang, whether that had anything to do with not having a go at Lorenzo or not nobody will ever know, but he did look a little keen to stop Pedrosa from doing so.

Ah well, at least we have a British motorcycle Grand Prix world champion for the first time in 38 years.

I'm gutted for Rossi! Hopefully he doesn't retire and comes back to win his 10th title next year!
Anyway I'm off to look at trading my Fireblade for an R1!
