Thanks, yes it does look in very good condition and I've always found that the JDM cars tend to be in much better condition than the same year UK cars.

I think the fact they don't use salt or grit on their roads has a lot to do with it.

Cheers Maz, I caught my eye when I saw the pics and it'll be a rare beast around these parts that's for sure.

Very nice Ty. I was looking at these a few months back, along with the XC60, Kuga, etc
all out of price range at the moment though.

As Ian proved in his, they can keep up the pace with the impreza's on the B roads.

Thanks Rich, I want mine for the practicality of the load space and tailgate whilst retaining some performance albeit in a slightly watered down fashion.

There aren't many cars to compare to it unless you are looking at Audi and Mercedes cars, and they'd all have to the moon and back mileages on them and be RAF.

Not long now, just watch out for worn window gusset when test driving. There 150 a side for parts, you get a wind noise at around 50-75mph if there gone. Simple to change though

Thanks Danny I will have a check for that on the drive home (and get it covered under the warranty), I will hopefully be picking the car up this weekend.

Hope all goes well.

There easy to spot, just look at the rubber where the glass comes up by the wing mirror, if it's cracked or split on the top you'll get a wind noise, it's a bit strange as it sounds like it's up near the top of the window but simple push the gusset by the tweeter and the noise goes.

Easy fix as said: door card off, unbolt old gusset and refit new one, you need to tinker with the adjustment but shouldn't take too long and jobs a goodun.

Cheers Danny, I'll have a look for that when I pick the car up.

I've had an email from Charlie at Prodrift to let me know that the car is ready for collection, so Friday is looking likely subject to confirmation on timings due to trains etc.

Oops, I've bought some bargain wheels.

I picked these up these wheels this afternoon from Ammanford, they're 18x8J - the faces need some TLC and the tyres aren't the best.

I'll get the tyres swopped over from my other wheels and job should be a good one.

They aren't bad, I do prefer TE37's if I'm honest but there's a lot of difference in the price and second hand examples are rarer than rocking horse poo.

Definitely not, new head unit, change of wheels, full service, new fuel pump and a remap for UK fuel and that's it.

I've set myself a spend and I'm not going beyond it.

Good one, you must have spent ages thinking that one up.

No Steve, nothing at all like that I'm afraid my days of heavily modifying cars are behind me now - similar level of performance to an Impreza but with more practicality.

As a mate once said to me "save the bs for the Mrs"

In all seriousness it's a lovely car and the wheels are nice too, you can't take it with you so you may as well enjoy it.

Yes they are great looking wheels and should really suit the Forester, and they will be staying gold - it's funny how that wheel colour went out of fashion and now it's back with a vengeance.

So I picked up the car late yesterday afternoon and I have to say that I can see what Danny was referring to about it being a nicer car to drive over the Impreza.

The driving position in the car is better as you get a slightly raised view of the road, the seats I think may be slightly different and the cabin is just a nicer place to be.

Overall I'm very impressed by the car, it can move when it needed and is just as happy sitting on the motorway.

Gold on white has always been a classic and always will be IMO but yes it did go out of fashion as did the gold on blue.

Never seen Revs on a foggy so I think that's going to be a refreshing new angle

I'll look forward to seeing it and if your around these parts drop in

I've not seen a gold set on a white Forester myself but the combination should look pretty good I think.

I could have called around last night on my way back down the M4 but it was quite late when I passed through.
