Opinions On This Forester STi Please

I may well have found a nice Forester STi, it's literally a fresh import having only come into the UK last week.

It's standard apart from the headlamp covers (which would be coming off if I had it) and an aftermarket rear silencer.

Here are some pics for your delectation. :)

Ty, I love it and have a soft spot for these :luvlove: and in a very rare colour too.
My advice is get it bought BUT you really need to ask yourself are you going to be 100% happy after you buy it and resist lure of the Perrin web site??? :thumb:

matt-c 12 March 2015 06:38 PM

Confused, surely the hatch was a better car?

You must have got a seriously good offer to sell it.

yabbadoo4 12 March 2015 06:46 PM

id have it in a heartbeat, very nice indeed.

Luckily for my wallet there isn't the same level of aftermarket parts for the Forester, some parts interchange with the Impreza but not all thankfully.

I dare say I'd go with some Perrin engine covers and some other cosmetic changes such as window deflectors, head unit plus a better exhaust system and a remap for UK fuel.

I love the colour as well, as much as I like WR blue I think it's time for a change. :)

It depends on your criteria for making a decision, probably better in some areas and worse in others.

Yes it wasn't a bad offer I have to say. ;)

Thanks, it does look like a very nice example. :thumb:

Very nice Tyron but really????

I just don't get this over a hatch or a saloon unless your carrying dogs or a very large set of golf bats. :wonder:

I'd take a step back my friend and carefully consider your options .

ozzreid1964 12 March 2015 07:45 PM

looking good ty :thumb: no probs with the golf clubs either :thumb:

andyleonard55 12 March 2015 07:46 PM

I love that car looks mint and the perfect mix of performance and space, having owned a hatch the boot was not all that big and I struggled to get my golf bag and trolley in it,so I can see how it might work very well for you.
Hope you get that one or something similar lovely looking cars.:thumb:

ditchmyster 12 March 2015 07:48 PM

Lush, is this the same guy that's not having another Subaru. :lol1:

Try driving this one for a bit before you start spending on it. :thumb:

DannyBoy007 12 March 2015 08:00 PM

Very nice, get it bought,

Having had classic's and a newage, I still prefer the Foggy over them all. It's a much nicer cabin, the driving position is more comfortable, the gearing and torque make driving very nice, massive boot, the list goes on.

If you do get it, I might be interested in the back box

The Sheep Worrier 12 March 2015 08:55 PM

Ideal, we can deffo fit more Sheep in the back than the hatch, and can go offloading over the range to some "beauty spots" I know of for a game of golf and catch the Virgin ewe's while they're off guard. Win win for me, and obviously the colour Is the best in white, it's taken you long enough to follow the trend setters, get it bought mon cherie.

The Trooper 1815 12 March 2015 09:35 PM

Buy it and I'll take it off your hands about Christmas time.

Well Kev I actually drew up a list of cars that I'd be interested in - these ranged from Porsche 911's and Cayman's to Holden Monaro V8's, throw in various BMW and Audi models for good measure as well.

I listed the positive and negative points for all these cars based upon budget against age / potential problems, I did quite a bit of research on the quirks of the models and to be honest the Forester STi does well in all areas.

And yes the load room would be nice to carry my golf clubs, trolley and all the other various things I tend to lug around with me. :)

Actually I stated that I wouldn't be getting another Impreza so you were nearly correct. ;)

This car will definitely not be going down the heavily modified routes, if it does I'll give myself a good kicking. :D

Short of major catastrophes it should be mine in the next 2/3 weeks, I like the practicality whilst still keeping performance as well.

I'm not sure on the back box, I know it's an aftermarket item but which one I don't know yet - I'll let you know in due course. :thumb:

Thanks Rob, barring problems it'll be mine soon enough and ideal for taking the girls out over the ranges for some loving. :lol1:

If I'd really want to have cheesed you off even more then I could have got a Legacy TBSTi or even better the STi. :D

They've grown on me over the years, I remember a really nice one in WR blue and thinking I'd like one of those. :)

Totally correct, I wish I'd bought yours as it was a lovely facelift model in fantastic condition. :thumb:

Looks tidy enough... What mileage, price, service history, when was the last cambelt change? Recently had a major service on my FSTI including cambelt and it was not cheap! However, provided good peace of mind for the future :)

It has 52000 warranted miles on it, it will be having a major service (every possible serviceable item and fluid will be changed) along with a new set of brake hoses. :)

ozzreid1964 13 March 2015 11:57 AM

look forward to seeing you and the new car :thumb:be good to catch up
