What was this marketing drive called "Beatgate"?? It doesn't take much click bait to get a moron on the line.

I can't believe people like you care so much about non issues with devices they don't own, it's bizarre.

I only use Apple Maps, travel extensively and to date have made it there and back. Tried Google Maps after someone sent me a link that opened in the app, not bad but not as well integrated.

I'll give it another go then.
Both cars have good Satnav but I still use it for working out routes.

Definitely give it another go, there are areas where Google will be better and areas where Apple will be better that's just going to happen, see what works for you. I also carry an old TomTom on big trips just in case I can't get data.

The BM has built in nav which is pretty good.
We use a Garmin Nuvi (top end one) in the Subaru - superb nav but SO obviously modelled on an iPhone in shape, materials and style!

Default Apple Watch

I read this and agree

http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_te...ml?wpsrc=wired

When people ask what I like about it - and they ask often - I always say "not reaching for my phone" the other parts are good, great even, but the extra time the watch has given me is the best.

It's your future, you're still in denial about the iPhone changing your life, there's still time for you to grasp it.

As a sport watch it pretty fragile. A Casio (a much derided brand by fanboys) G-Shock can take far more abuse!

A slave standing on the side of the pool does the same, just as relevant.

Open water swimming is great with it. Not tried the pool yet but it should be good.
Interestingly (ish) Suunto have just released a major update for the Ambit 2 - pretty good for an "old" model. It has all sorts of new stuff like a storm warning.

I've been surfing loads and not running, cycling or swimming all that much so haven't actually used mine a lot in the last month. Surfing every day isn't bad exercise though; you can get a surfing app - measures the length of your waves but I can't really be bothered with it.

Storm warning I can totally understand, Dark Skies is spookily good with rain, sometimes down to the minute and on your wrist!

Sheep.

Still like mine too, switched to the right wrist, Apple Pay will be awkward on the left.

No no Tidgy, you may recall my Macbook had a catastrophic failure, it was a £2500 machine so I was very unhappy. Even at four years old it was still a fantastic machine so I didn't want to lose it. I popped into the Apple store and they fixed it for free, major component replacement. My Macbook is still a fantastic machine.

At £2500 and 3 times the price i would expect the warrenty to be good hahaha.

i will admit though that replacing it after that long is good going.
