I haven't had my car mapped by Mark @ TDR but I can't speak highly enough for him. Wouldn't hesitate to go to him first.

Sorry I'm not more helpful.

ZEN is still trading though. Paul has moved onto pastures new and left it in the capable hands of Richard to carry on.
I'll be there at the end of the month for some work.

Paul was one of few who gave genuine straight up advice, I'm sure he didn't leave rich to continue if he wasn't confident.

I'd also be interested to know which mappers are considered the best. Simon mapped my car for the last few years and always did a great job, but sadly he's no longer with us. I've used Bob Rawle in the past & was pleased with the results and Bob is really helpfull. I'd use Bob again but he's stopped mapping on Saturdays & it was always a full day to get to his, map the car then back home again.

I think that's an impossible question, for this reason.
How do you define 'best'? That's a very subjective and personal assessment.
Best result in terms of output? How do you know there isn't more available?
Best in terms of durability (safe mapping)? How do you know there isn't more available?
Who is the nicest guy to deal with?
Who gives you the best fuel economy?
Who is cheapest?
And so on.

This is the dilemma, and in the end it just comes down to trust.
You give your P & J to mapper 'A' and he gets xyzBHP. You then take the car to mapper 'B' and he gets xyz+2 BHP. Does that make him better, lucky, or perhaps more cunning?
Leave it with you.

You have a choice of 4-5 people who are on top of the mapping game, Its not a hard choice just speak to them first and make an educated decision, Thats all you can do...What is good for one person may not be for the next

But for what it's worth both our imprezas were mapped by Duncan with no issues on either.

He's just an idiot as we know,
Both were mapped on tesco 99 as we don't have a shell local.
Neither have ever had an issue, one was sold last year though.

Guys I cant share that text via PM as it was sent in confidence to me, pretty sure RCM used to use Paul B for mapping but are going back to David Rowe now for the GS but not certain whether he will be mapping customers cars.

They have it done there but I think they bring in people to physically do the mapping.

Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe Olly does it.

Richard is now at the helm of Zen, I only learnt this yesterday morning when I went for a downpipe and fuel pump fitting and remap to suit. Had to come away with the car unmapped though as there seems to be a problem getting my car into test mode to write a map so can't pass judgement on how good the map is yet!
