Its certainly on my list of things to consider. How many different occasions are we aware of where things haven't gone as expected? Surely some sort of petition would be enough to have a strong case to get the directors disqualified and struck off.

I'd expect this one too disappear shortly.
It seems they threaten scoobynet with legal action despite being crooks.
I'd get some legal advice regarding your deposit, don't let them have it and be aware they read this forum so keep some info to yourself.

I'm keeping a printable version of this thread anyway as there is a lot of useful info. Just hope that if it is deleted the mods give me the heads up so I can print everything up to date.
Still don't see why they should delete it.

Stick with it. All it would take is a round up with contact numbers and email addresses and a very short synopsis of peoples dealings with CP to be handed to a researcher at WatchDog - they would probably jump all over it as it is very clear cut. Open a thread on every forum and facebook page with a contact email to drop information too. Once gathered, get in touch with the BBC and the press local to Cheshire Performance - local press love a local crook story.

But let's be honest here,
They haven't actually done a lot wrong In this case.
The op willingly left a deposit to secure a car and then pulled out of the deal.
The other buyer story is hard to prove being untrue.
So other than the deposit issue what exactly have they done wrong in the eyes of the law??

My decision to withdraw is based on reputation and in hindsight the blatant hoax with the other buyer. I've got a few other details that firmly make be believe this was a hoax to put me in a pressured situation which i haven't disclosed on this forum. Subsequently the attitude of the person I spoke to earlier too.
I dont want to do business with them, I want my deposit back and I understand it will be a fight. I'm up for it.

R8JimBob88,
Firstly my commiserations to you, but fat_thomas summed it up ... try and look at it as £11K saved rather then £500 lost as it could have been much worse.
The issue with the mods pulling the thread has nothing to do with advertisers and money and everything to do with libel. There are many on this forum who do not understand libel and there somewhat idiotic rants on threads such as these are just because they are uneducated in how the real world works.
So far I would say this thread is reasonably safe from deletion as to your credit you have kept very calm and reported the facts as you see them. If, however, we get someone come on here and start posting opinion as if it were fact then (even though it may be true in many people's eyes) SN choose (rightly IMO) not to take the chance of a writ being issued against them and then having to go through legal proceedings even if it is to find out they are not guilty. It's hassle and expense they do not want and that is their choice as SN is not a democracy, but a forum owned by a company with a mission statement that likely does not include going to court to defend libel accusations however right or wrong they may be.
So keep the thread focused and factual and I think you will be alright.
Finally to your dilemma what I would do is this. Let the dust settle for a few weeks. Then have a friend ring up and pretend to want to buy one of their cars and ask about putting a deposit down and what the deposit means. Based on what they say you may well be able to bring a small claims court case against them which costs very little and I doubt you will lose unless they are very clear about the terms of their deposits! You may get a settlement less than the full amount, but at least you get something. Small claims court is very easy and non-stressful. You and a representative from the other side sit with a judge and put your arguments across and a decision is then made based on your evidence.

Thanks for all of your advice so far guys. Keep it coming.
Please can people refrain from making silly suggestions. I don't want this thread to be deleted. By posting stupid things you'll get the thread removed and indirectly do Cheshire Performance a favour.
Thank you

If this dispute goes on for some time, its entirely possible that the car may sell to someone else in the meantime.
So, if the deposit you paid was to hold the car for you, they'd have no reason to not refund you.
If the deposit was a commitment to buy the car, they will have breached that contract by selling it to someone else, so again they'd have no reason not to refund you.
Good luck and persevere! I got myself stressed a few years ago when trying to return a faulty car. I kept up the pressure and it all worked out in the end. They will hopefully get sick of hearing from you and pay the money back to you to get you off their back.

Sadly most posts get deleted by the admin regarding chesh1t non performance.
I'd expect this one too disappear shortly.
It seems they threaten scoobynet with legal action despite being crooks.
I'd get some legal advice regarding your deposit, don't let them have it and be aware they read this forum so keep some info to yourself.

Out of the countless threads about this company, only ONE has been deleted and an explanation was given by the mod concerned (due to it going way off topic, containing too much opinion rather than fact). He decided it was more appropriate to delete than edit.
Feel free to bash the mods when it's justified, but in this case, you've been quite unfair.

Ok, so in theory...
If they are considering this as a commitment to buy/secure deposit (which it wasn't given no contract etc) then should they have taken the car off the market? As nothing was signed and there was no timescale agreed on completion of the transaction, I assume that I have as long as I need to decide whether or not i want the car. During this time, it can't be sold in the meantime whilst they hold my deposit? If it is sold in the meantime then they are in breach of the "commitment to buy/secure" deposit?
