That's because they have no idea which way you are intending to go, try using the indicators

I bought one, not for any other reason than it has my initials and is an old suffix style from 1964. I like the more unusual plates.

You can get L555 TAB from Elite Registrations:-

Not quite Colin McRaes plate but very close and quite cheap for the price I reckon.

I'm just going to change my name to match my plate - it's a lot cheaper.

I am not too sure about private plates, they say something about the owner which I am not sure is good. By the way, I don't ever consider a numberplate a 'private plate' unless it is a proper 4 digits or less one. The other ones where it is a prefix letter, numbers and then more letters tend to look naff. Sorry to say, but they look like what they are - something to hide the age of an old car.

Or they are a form of extra advertising - plumbers' vans spelling 'SH07WER' or letting agents 'TO07LET' etc

None of my plates hide the age of the car.
All cars are less than 2 years old in fact.
My first plate was from a T reg when I bought an RB5 ...
Sorry to blow your theory fella.
To me they just look a little better than a bog standard number. No more than that..
Now the fella up the road with 2 range rovers ,his and hers with plates
KG* 1
SJ* 1
says " I am seriously wealthy " now move over peasants....!!!!

Right then, you can all work out my initials are PF from my username I'm sure.

What's the best number plate for me then? I don't have a middle name...
