Mine is fastened up with mirror fixings, which hold it just proud of the tiles.

I'd not use sealant under it, as you push it to bed it, the sealant line will go very uneven. Then you'll see it through the glass

It's not see through, it's backed and you bed it on low modulus silicone and then seal round the bottom (and sides if you wish).

Anyway found a place in Huddersfield that will make me a 3.2m piece exactly as I requested so happy now.
