As said above,am I right in thinking Clarkson owns the Top Gear format thus allowing him to sell to the highest bidder and start all over again ...

Would be good to see him move to another channel and continue the shows success however, even if it did mean rebranding. Whatever you think of Clarkson his charisma is what makes the show - it wouldn't be much without him.
Would be good to see the BBC suffer from his removal - I expect May and Hammond would follow him to another channel - expect 'the stig' is part of the brand rights so he'd be lost sadly!

Former Top Gear presenter Chris Goffey told BBC Radio 5 live while discussions on the programme so....
Sorry, I dozed off. I thought by now this old bore would have bored himself so much with his drivel that he forgot to breath and died! Never let TG return with presenters like him.

Believe he sold his rights to the BBC in 2012, so unfortunately it's BBC owned now as far as I know. Thanks for clearing that up ......

the remaining 3 shows have been pulled due to Clarkson swinging a punch at a producer...

according to the RadioTimes site, the incident happened last week - wonder why the delay in reporting ??
"..The Top Gear host has been suspended from the BBC after allegedly aiming a punch at a male producer, in an incident last week.
The alleged assault was only reported to the corporation yesterday, and BBC executives took the decision to suspend Clarkson earlier today...."

Good news, hopefully the show will concentrate on cars now and become more like the vastly superior 5th Gear.
...and no Jeremy just because a car handles well and returns good MPG doesn't mean it's ****.

Top Gear is not live so the programme editors have every opportunity to edit out anything that is a bit too close to the mark. Blaming Clarkson for dodgy remarks is like a newspaper editor holding a reporter responsible for bad language that gets printed. It's a complete crock of ****. If Clarkson is dropped from the programme, which will be the end of it, I hope it's for knocking a producer's teeth out. At least it will really end with a bombshell!
Exactly. It's the editors that control what is aired by Clarkson. Same as someone released the un-used footage of the "Catch a N**ger" footage.
Which probably means Clarkson has just found out who it was, and Tw*tted him.
Top Gear (which is Clarkson) make the BBC Millions in revenue each year. Only an anti-car/anti Clarkson fool would axe Clarkson.
Remember when that woman was in charge, and she brought in Kate Humble to take about cup holders, and seat patterns? it died of death.
Will Clarkson give a sh*t if axed? No.
For a start his DVD's will go back to being about cars instead of just a Christmas special of Top Gear. And as said already, Sky are probably already opening the Cheque book in anticipation.

I hope he knocked the producer on his **** when he swung at him. I wonder what the idiot did to provoke Clarkson, no doubt we will only get the bbc swing on it.
**** em it's all i watched the bbc for so thats me done.
