Indeed. I was being sarcastic in that 'vape it, vape it' post.

Duncan, do you see that you are emasculating someone in order to ridicule than to humour? Hardly is banter, that.

Anyway, you seem to enjoy displaying this sort of behaviour of late, so carry on. Whatever makes you happy.

Have to say it was Stu's reply to your thread in policy that really got me looking at this place in a different light. When it was just an issue of the membership of the site then I just ignored it but to see one of the site owners come forward and say "well we could be more strict on these things but we can't be bothered" (in essence). That says much more about Scoobynet to me.

+1.

Seeing abrupt thread lockings in order to curb public discussion and to avoid answering the query were also pretty unsightly (sorry for using 'pretty' and 'unsightly' words together, but you know what I mean).

It reminded me of the 'community has spoken' freak show times.

However,

Jus tin case.............

Those who are unhappy with how the site is run why don't you leave and find somewhere else to post? A bit like not liking Top Gear so stop watching it.

Seems there are way too many people happy to knock something but carry on making use of it.

Why do people need to leave, if they are not happy here?? That's another cop out, to impose this 'leave if you don't like', on people!

People can be heard and talked with, at least, you know. Restorative work can take place than destructive order of 'fekk off if you don't like it'. If that doesn't work at all due to ideological differences, then of course people can either shut up, gladly leave, get banned (for causing havoc, if they do) or carry on posting. IMO.

Because if you really dislike how something is and you don't agree with the answers to any complaints then don't have anything to do with it any more.

I didn't suggest you don't complain or raise the issues, but if you do so and still don't like the outcome surely it's a simple solution, either accept it or move on somewhere else.

Sure, I agree with that.

As I say, they can either put up or shut up, moan forever or find the pastures new. It's not that internet surfing is just about SN anymore, is it.

I also see why some people don't get heard. It's to do with 'whatever wrong I do is right', but 'anything wrong they do isn't'. That's not right in itself.

Anyway. Enough of that.

Any news on Jeremy Clarkson?

Yep I couldn't agree more, but we had better not say too much before the lock hammer is flung on to this thread too.

Should the bbc be held accountable or not is the matter in hand

Seems they are considering Stephen Fry as a replacement for Clarkson:

Urghh. I bloody hope not. Utter bore; These days he's only any good for pretentious panel shows and long winded documentaries.

Apparently the BBC planned to still record and air the last 3 episodes of the current series without Clarkson, until May and Hammond refused.

Interesting that they were allowed to refuse; I thought that would put them in breach of contract?

I guess the BBC has enough on their plate sorting out the situation with Clarkson without taking on more litigation! Or perhaps the BBC realised they were right and that it is an all or nothing deal with those three!

The backlash would be even worse. Nearly a million signatures so far on a petition to reinstate Clarkson so far, if his loyal chums were then in hot water for supporting him the BBC would cop even more crap.

The fact the producer didn't even make a complaint shows what an utter ar$e the BBC are making of themselves. Yes discipline Clarkson for his behaviour but he was the one who owned up to his own bad behaviour as opposed to anyone making an official complaint so all this money being wasted on an official investigation is just pathetic. I hope figures are made public on just how much money the BBC have wasted on this debacle, both through an investigation and in the 3 episodes not now being aired.

Those kind of decisions are a lot easier to make when you have a few million quid hanging out of your back pocket.

True, but given my current circumstances I still see no reason to give up on morality. Let's be honest though May and Hammond without top gear would fade away.
