Not at all... a mapper will map to the best of the engines ability! you might get 'more' out of a crap mapper wanting to give you big figures, but driveability and longevity wont be up to much..

Go do your work and lets see the 380 I dont think David at API told you that did he?

Hi, no API did not tell me that, it was a couple of people on the forum that advised they got 380 from standard turbo, i might just leave the car as it is at the moment as it runs really well, maybe when i do decide to upgrade to 380 bhp i will look at the varioua turbos available.

Hahaha was it a Facebook page or a Subaru Impreza Owners Club that told you that?

First rule of Subaru facebook pages, every classic has 280bbp 'red top engine' and every Impreza gains 200bhp by using a dump valve.

This was my custom made Longlife Exhaust system on my hawk STi, I thought it was quite, but having a custom exhaust you can tell them how loud/quite you want it, as they can add more silencers etc!!!

You could get 380 with the right supporting mods.
Mines running 372bhp and 440ft lbs on the stock turbo. And I've not touched the headers yet.

I have a Miltek 3'' resonated decat turbo back and it's loud!

But I've put a custom 3'' twin resonated centre in it and it's made it perfect. Lovely deep burble and not overly loud.

Oh I see, I have had both cats removed and replaced with a 3 inch that goes down to 2.5 inch decat pipe. The rest of the exhaust is the standard 2.5 inch STI exhaust, so will changing my STI 2.5 inch exhaust to a "performance" 2.5 inch exhaust make any difference in performance if it's the same suze?

Hi there

Few companies making exhaust which has tapering to 2.5" or center pipe will meet 2.5" DP

Difference between the performance 2.5" and OEM shouldn't be,but this depends on makers, stock Prodrive box is bit restrictive above 350bhp,I've seen few guys struggled get pass on Prodrive backbox 350bhp on normal fuel

Plus depends on how many extra resonators this exhaust have etc.but I've see on few 2.5" awesome results(beyond 400bhp),we are made on 2.25" exhaust 382bhp(that's not on Subaru though, but on Honda EP3 Type R)

Same is with 3" exhaust,we are run few of them and best has been in therm of power Buddyclub Spec IV which is very noisy, but on this exhaust we are made highest power and Revolution which has been OK too,but still has made less power than with Buddyclub

We are run too HKS exhaust which in our case has been proven at numerous bhp levels

Hope this help

Thanks,Jura
