Willow Creek is similar to the Blair Witch Project, 50% of people find it totally boring and the other 50% of people think it taps into their primal fears like nothing else.
Like anything, it's what people find scary, my wife thought Babadook was scarier than Willow Creek. She's more visual than I. My imagination went into overdrive when the "whoop, whoop" noises were outside the tent and closing.

Babadook had some startling imagery but it lacked a few jump scares or long passages of tension to get the heart beat raised. It plays like a remake of The Shinning but really needed the young star to have some long wanders alone around the house to put the creeps into the viewer.
Watched Limitless last neet, felt a bit flat after recently watching Lucy.

Jo Nesbo's head hunters is without doubt one of the greatest movie experiences Iv ever had the pleasure of watching, superbly acted throughout, twists and turns with good suspense, essential viewing.
Watch Jo Nesbo's "jackpot"if you liked head hunters, quick synopsis...
It's a thriller and a very violent one at that but it's a crime movie in the same vein as Fargo and has a real Coenesque vibe to it so between cringing at the gore I was in fits of laughter, as an incompetent group men mess with one another with the intent of being the last man standing to secure the whole jackpot of a huge betting win.
The whole story is told in series of flashbacks as one of the group is questioned by a police detective with, shall we say, unconventional methods. Needless to say the ending is not what you expect as the whole sequence of events is finally revealed.
A must see if you liked head hunters.

Would be nice if someone did a reboot and genuinely rebooted it rather than recycling charachters very similar to those in originals. They've done it in all Predator films, The Thing, etc. It would also be cool to see the baddies win for a change and someone other than an American being the smartest being in the Universe. How would a Brazilian do it? Just saying.

If you've not seen Alien before, it probably won't disappoint you. For a hardened Alien series fan, it was a bit h'mmmm. The fact that they tried to distance themselves from Alien in the press prior to release was a sign imo. It's ok, just weak compared to Scott's first outing with the story. The fact that they cast people like Idris Elba to play a charachter similar to Yaphet Kotto in the Original (albeit the Captain not the Engineer) and the Synthetic Human (David) is just like Ash and Bishop in the others was all a bit h'mmmm.

The alien films got progressively worse on each outing(but still love every one)
Cameron's Aliens is also a fantastic watch and way ahead of its time.
Prometheus I did enjoy very much, even though was classed as a separate film there were plenty of references to the Alien franchise that tied a few things up nicely.
I personally hope they never re-make the original Alien, it can not be beaten........ever!

Also a hardened alien franchise fan, the 1979 Alien is probably my all time favourite film, it's probably one of only a very few select films that wouldn't look out of place being released in 2014, definitely way ahead of its time, maybe apart from mother lol

That's a shame, I've been looking forward to it. I was looking forward to Noah, too, but found it a bit disappointing. I thought the creation scene was very good and some of the themes were interesting, but it didn't move me. I'll still give Exodus a go, I think. I'll let you know how I find it.

I watched Lucy last night after hearing its praises here. I thought it was a sheer waste of my £4.99 on some Sky Box Office movie. Just because Lucy was climbing the walls with two guns in her hand each doesn't make it anywhere as good as Matrix. Good story ruined by very bad effects and poor film photography in general, and rubbish direction. Story like that could have really knocked Matrix for a sixer if it was made properly. Even the soundtrack was appalling.
No offence to the ones who liked it, but it failed to please me.

There are worse ways to spend a couple of hours, I just expected more given the cast and director.
Btw, give Flight a go. Denzel is on top form in that film.

I eventually got to saw 50 Dead Men Walking yesterday night, which I had recorded a long time ago. Good film, kept me on my seat without pausing any moment. Only thing is that I found the accent not so understandable straight away sometimes, so I had to up the volume for that.
Got Starred Up for fiver at lunch time in Tesco with the recent racist attack in the same store playing in the back of my mind. I was telling the till lady (one of the store managers she is) that it has been suggested as a good watch on internet. She said she watched Lucy as her brother raved about it, and found it very mediocre. I agreed on Lucy with her, and walked away with the last copy of Starred Up, which was just waiting there on the shelf; slightly tilted and lonely; just to be picked up by me. Forgot to buy the popcorns, so will watch it with some onion bhajis, if I get around to making some myself.

Watched dead snow 2 last night, the first one was amazingly good but this one tops it in every conceivable way.
This is a No holds barred splat fest from beginning to end.
I love gore but some scenes in this were so disgusting, in a good way I mean.
This film doesn't take any prisoners in political correctness either, OAP's, the disabled, mothers with prams, kids, heck even babies get wasted in such creative ways.
The film is very well made, great camera work, music and amazing effects.
**** zombies have never looked better.
A brilliant brilliant black comedy.
