Wayhay! Eddie Redmayne got the Best Actor Oscar as well for The Theory of Everything! He has already bagged Golden Globe and Bafta for it. 'Very well done' to a gentle speaking, fragile and lost looking, blue-eyed young man with outstanding staging ability.
I do recommend this film to anyone who likes quality cinema. Go and watch it. You won't be disappointed.

The oscars and Hollywood are nothing but a meaningless sham, a couple of reasons why, there are many many more though.......
Directors, Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock never won an Oscar, yet they are arguably two of the greatest and most influential directors of all time.
Stanley Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey, probrarly the most influential film ever made, lost out to the musical Oliver, says it all really.

That is why, when someone well deserving one gets an Oscar, it's a good feeling. Also, the Redmayne fella is our British lad; just like our Mr. Daniel Day-Lewis, so I'm happy. I didn't think DDL was that great in Lincoln, and I did think that Oscar could have gone to someone who actually acted.
This time, Oscar awarding has been criticised for having all white nominations. It has also been criticised for not giving a space to late Joan Rivers in the Memorial. I was reading an article yesterday which was pulling whole Oscar thing apart by saying that the nominators do not even watch most films. That was shocking to know, if true.

Also, Oscar or no Oscar, Redmayne is outstanding in The Theory of Everything without a doubt. It's about our British scientist Mr. Stephen Hawking, and the makers of the film have done justice to it. Therefore, award or no award, it's an excellent watch.

Not a bad watch, it scared me. Some very creepy moments.
I watched Greystone Park last night. It should have been scary but the cast just argued all the way through it and it stopped the tension building whilst they were filming some pretty eerie scenes.

I started this thread because I had some time off and I had not really watched that many films over the past few years compared to the average person, due to lack of time and a low concentration threshold
I have to say a big thanks because I am watching stuff I probably wouldn't have seen if I had been left to my own devices and it has been great!
Keep them coming

The Afflicted.
Really enjoyed this film tonight. Like a cross between The Lost Boys and Chronicle. The effects were outstanding and to be honest I don't know how this film isn't a mainstream smash.

Watched Hallow tonight, took a while to get going but finished on a genuinely creepy note. That coat!!
Felt a bit like a 2 part British drama that would have been better for TV than DVD. Certainly for fans of spooky settings only.

Last night for the first time ever I fell asleep during a film. 5 times in fact.
Mirrormask
It's getting to the point I can only watch found footage films, anything remotely stylish just feels so forced and detached.

It is a fair few to list..........the most recent one I enjoyed was Gone Girl
As I said in my previous posts I haven't been a huge watcher of films in the past but that is changing now and I am very grateful to everyone who has taken the time to give me a recommendation
