I respect both of your opinions, I just wish you could both make an effort to "play the ball, not the man". Same applies to half of NSR.

Any thoughts on this, Matt?

Sorry, Matt, and yes, disgusting.

As a PR man by trade, how would you word open criticism of the restoration of the caliphate through jihad?
If you were the caliph

http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/89726/caliph

and you'd decided to openly and aggressively denounce the restoration of the caliphate

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caliphate

which outward jihad seeks to bring about

https://dawatussalafiyyah.wordpress....-of-the-enemy/

how would you word it, given that you're a PR man by trade?

Thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.

Anything else I feel like adding will get me banned.

These are just sick *******s doing these type of acts,
There is no part of the Bible Quran or Torah which can justify these murders.

I don't know enough about it to comment TBH and reading the description of Jihad is rather confusing and not at all clear cut - it appears that the word "Jihad" is rather overused and taken by crazed nutters to be an excuse to fight and kill others - I wonder how many of those have actually followed the rules and made Jihad with themselves first?

I sense a bending of the fundamental principles of Islam to justify mindless aggression.

Possibly not to you or I, but people will read into and decipher things they see fit.

My take on 'moderate' Islam is the part of that religion that lives happily along side believers of a different religion.

Lol at the making this yet another Muslim bashing session, what about all the atrocities committed in the name of Christianity past and present, these seem to go somewhat conveniently under the radar.

Just saying.

Problem is if someone decides that a particular group is "the enemy", then any atrocity becomes 'right' in their mind.

Be it Christian, Islam, Martian, Judaism, Naziism.....

Let them get on with it.Their mind set is just so alien to any western view that they might as well come from Mars.

I watched the program about dismantling Camp Bastion. The senior Brit was walking around with a senior Afghan Army bod & he was being translated into English. What an arrogant two faced, nasty, ungrateful piece of **** he was and he was supposed to be on our side....

Yes, it's obfuscous at best. I deliberately put up a link from an 'Islamic' site for balance. You seem to be quite keen to defend Islam, Matt, is there a reason for that given you claim to know so little about it? There are literally dozens of well organised outfits committing atrocities on a daily basis across the planet. Are you of the opinion that they all misunderstand Islam and that the taxi drivers and mothers and shoppers we see in and around Muslim enclaves in the UK are real Muslims? Does being nominal and 'moderate' make you a true Muslim or is waging outward, physical Jihad more Islamic?

Well if you look at the Quran, there is nothing about violence. So those that use it are simply getting it wrong.

I don't defend Islam; I try to see both sides. In Israel I believe the largely Muslim Palestinians are the opressed minority and the Israelis are the heavy handed bullies.

It's not a case of being pro or anti anything but as far as religion goes, it's all rather daft to me.

I preferred the film. Especially the song at the end.

I don't know exactly, you'd have to interview a load of choir/altar boys to get an accurate answer.

Well, this is a bit of a non sequitur, but I'll have a go at unpicking it. Just to clarify, you've not read all of the Qur'an and claim to "not know enough about it to comment" and you "haven't read all of the Bible", but "still know what it's all about". Could you just clear up this apparent contradiction for me, please?

Sadly not; I am an atheist but try and learn a little about each religion to see what makes some people tick. Apologies for not knowing every holy book inside out but I still know the basics. Should I have studied Theology to have an opinion on religion? Might that have been a bit of a waste of time?

I don't know how to strip down and rebuild any modern engine but I know a lot about cars; am I also a fraud here too?

Come on, you've not run a country but I'm sure you give your opinions on the matter. And then where do you draw the line, claim that someone who has read a (full) god book has not lived the life and been born and raised in a religious community so doesn't understand?

Yet you claimed:

I don't know enough about it to comment TBH
which clearly contradicts the highlighted claim. And this:

if you look at the Quran, there is nothing about violence
Do I need to quote the Sword Verses or can I leave you to Google them? I'm not suggesting you're a fraud, but I do find your reasoning to be confusing.
