I would look at something like this http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...ru-sti/2939736
Twin scroll cars give a better power band and produce more torque lower down the rev range which means you get a much smoother drive.
Some people dont like it and think that a turbocharged car should be nothing then everything, you dont get that with twin scroll units, you get progressive power which doesnt feel quick but is actually quicker than the nothing/everything approach.
They are also equal length headers which means you dont get the burble, if you listen though there is a little something there but the car sounds more rally car ish than the unequal length ones, oh and dont change the manifold/headers as it just ruins the setup.
Having owned 2 Spec C's over the years (2004-2007 & 2010-2014) I can say they are excellent cars but not everyones cup of tea, no sound proofing, no central locking, no crash protection in the doors, noisier and quite plain looking in most cases, great fun but any 2005 onwards car (wide track) would suit your needs just as well as they closed the gap between the standard STI and Spec C in lots of ways (but you keep the comfort of the Standard STI).
In your case I would look at the car I put up there, if its got service history and has no accident damage, its worth putting an offer in for it

Dont mess about!
Just get one!
I had one, ive had many cars over the years and I really miss my Spec C.
I had a Litchfield Hawk with some mods, see my gallery for more info.
Great car, OK maybe not so comfortable, you certainly would not want to be doing a long commute to work in it everyday, especially if you are prone to headaches!
But the performance of the Spec C is sublime as I am sure you are aware.
Just do it!

Minor mods would be a fuel pump and a decent panel filter + exhaust.

That looks nice, Martin.
Only thing I don't like about Hawkeyes, is the rear lights. They just seem to look a bit cheap, and Lexarse-ish.

Smart Car choice there martin
I heard that the VF47s are 'capable' of 400 hp but not too sure if many reach that power level. If you are sticking with the standard application and want near to 400hp then things like ported headers, billet wheel (unless it already has one), meth mix would help you reach that.
From what I have heard 350hp in a JDM STi is a completely different experiance so enjoy it an I look forward to your forthcoming updates .
Was this by any chance the one on Hurst Cars I saw a while back?
All the best mate,
Subaru Collector 555.

Yes this is from max at hurst... It's currently on its way to this country. 400 would be more than enough although power will come after some handling mods first.
White was the colour of choice and always liked the Hawkeyes so this kind of made my choice.. Looking forward to getting it now the excitement is great lol

API David had his old WR Blue JDM STi's VF37 sent off and fettled by Owen Developments. Allowed it to breathe to 394bhp (and 398lb ft) after the remap, IIRC. Was really groovy - because I drove it as a courtesy loan car. The turbo flutter on closed throttle was really loud. lol
Give O.D. a shout... They might well sell the unit on an exchange basis with an upfront surcharge (refunded on receipt of your own 37).
