I used to use Autoglym on my other car, Kia Shuma . I then tried Meguiars on my Scoob and found it to be excellent stuff, couldn't fault it. I then tried it on the Kia and it was heaps better than the Autoglym, but now going off what every body is saying here about the WW, I will be trying it, but when I run out of the Meguiars as its expensive stuff. Question, is the California water blade the same as or similar to Autoglyms hydra flexi blade?

I always use Autoglym and NEVER see any marks left behind, it comes off very easliy for me, I do get a lot of static though (probably because the Elise is plastic), but when I use the extra gloss on top of the resin polish even that goes. It also elimates all the swirl marks.
Their wheel cleaner is excellent so long as you rinse it off thoroughly without leaving it too long.

Would love to try a sample of WW, but again, I'm not paying that much just to see if I prefer it or not to the bottles I already have been given for free from auotglym for visiting their factory.

Also used the full catalogue of Auto Glym on my Puma for the past 3 years and have no complaints (apart from the alloy cleaner which was pants. Wonder Wheels was much better).

However, I have an open mind and if your man from Wax Wizard will stick to his word and re-fund any dis-satisfied customers, I will try the Scoob kit as soon as I get the chance to make the MY01 dirty!

I too updated a WW thread (a while ago) suggesting it was a situation of Emperors New Clothes. But having used WW products they are superior to Autoglym (IMHO). Whether they are worth the money ?!? I think so.

That's because so many people wash and polish their car washing/polishing round and round in circles which is the last thing you should do........it's normally a nice gritty washing sponge that does the most damage........

I've used Autoglym stuff for years + have always been happy with it; until I got my Scooby. In bright sunlight it looked like I hadn't buffed all the polish off + looked a mess. I ordered the starter WW kit, thinking it was expensive but I wasn't happy with the Autoglym finish (SRP + EGP) so it was worth a go.

The finish you get using the cleanse + Merlin wax is unbelievable - mine is DBM and you really do get that mirror finish. It last a lot longer than Autoglym as well - a quick scrub dry + the finish is back. Really vv.good. It last a long time as well - my stuff is a year old, I've just run out of wheel cleaner but have got well over half of everything else left.

Buy WW kit, you won't regret it!

PS - don't use Autoglym wheel cleaner if you like paint on your calipers - it took it straight off mine!!

I forgot to mention earlier or rather I just remembered that apart from using Autoglym on the Kia which resulted in swirlmarks, had no problems with it on my 1988 Holden Commodore Group A "WALKINSHAW" in OZ. It used to come up beautifully, however the paint was acrylic. The Kia is 2 pack and so is my Scoob. Maybe it works better on different cars. Too scared to use it on the Scoob though, cause of the swirls it left on the Kia.

Dave, I must be one of the fussiest blokes when it comes to washing, polishing and waxing. I use a Meguiars soft buff magic sponge for washing, a soft buff chamois for drying, Meguiars soft buff hand applicator pads for applying polishes and waxes and soft buff polishing 100% cotton lint and scratch free towels for removing polish and wax and I do not wash or polish round and round. My Scoob bought from new in August last year has not one swirlmark. Not trying to argue with anyone here as we are all just trying to put our points through. Like I said in my previous reply Autoglym worked wonders on my Holden Commodore GROUP A.

My car is DBM and its 13 month old paintwork is covered in swirlmarks which only show up in direct bright sunshine.

Now I have never put this car through a car wash and tried to be as careful as I can, first using a jetwasher to get rid of all the loose dirt and then a new sponge each time with plenty of clean water but it still impossible to avoid them.

Seems to me that the paintwork is so crap that even rubbing it with a soft cloth leads to even more of these tiny little scratches.

Now I purchased a wax wizard starter kit and I have to admit the end result is absolutely brilliant, in fact I am going to have to buy some more soon as the only things I have left are Clense and half a pot of wax (the wax does indeed last for ages). The finish looks brilliant until the car is in direct sunlight and then all the swirlmarks in the clear topcoat show up

Now this is probably me not using the Clense No2 Properly but it doesn't seem to get rid of these swirl marks. How exactly should I be using it and how does it get rid of the swirl marks which are in the clear topcoat?

Seems to me the only way to avoid these marks is to either never wash your car or buy a silver one in the first place (which I will always be doing from now on)

Doh!!

Swirl marks or tiny, tiny scratches are not necessarily caused by gritty sponge etc. it’s a matter of course of washing your car. And if you use straight lines then when the sun shines on your car you’ll see huge long straight marks along your paint work. You just canny get away with it, me matey!!

A leather will also cause marks, that’s why I use the Wiper Blade, and no Halfords £1 jobby can beat it

california water blade- its a car squidgey (sp?)- used one last week for first time, superb. just one wipe and the bodywork is bone dry, no smears either.
