Just a couple of latest updates to the car :-)

I gave the back box a real good clean up as it was looking very grubby.
Also purchased a 'lowline' kit which consisted of side skirt runners and rear bumper spats to batch the lines of the front splitter.

These are all in the process of being skinned in 2/2 carbon fibre B-)









I wanted to keep the OEM look to the car when it came to wheels but I just felt that the standard 17's were just too small for the aesthetics of the car so after months of deliberating, searching and head scratching I opted for Speedline Corse Tarmac wheels which I believe were an option from Prodrive on PPP models when new. I then set about sourcing some genuine OEM Prodrive centre caps to match.

Specs of the wheels are 18" x 8" ET48 all round with 225/40/18 Bridgestone Potenza S001's.

Heres a great shot which highlights the improvement they make with the standard 17" Enkei still on the rear...

Where did you get the front plate from and what size is it? I fancy a slight smaller one on mine

 

I had a friend make it up for me as he works at a car dealership. I just measured the size of the plate position on the bumper and had him make it a little bigger than that. He used motorcycle size lettering so to some degree it is legal.

 

Fair enough. I know you can buy 3/4 plates but not sure if they will be too small and i dont want to attract unwanted attention from the law.
The original size front plates just look too big.

Hey love the amber side lights you've got going on! Can you give away your installation guide and parts required to achieve this? Also with the amber daytime bulbs can you still see the amber bulb flashing for the indicators? Cheers

Hi guys just a little update. Had a friend of mine detail the car on Saturday, he works for Ferrari & Maserati and done a super job. He spent 12 hours on Saturday doing a full paint correction and detail and fully sealed the exterior using Carbon Collective Oracle, Platinum glass on the windows and repel on the interior fabrics. The results are phenomenal and can really only be appreciated in the flesh but a couple pics were taken afterwards...








Here's also a few more pics of the car I took with a friend of mine a couple weeks back with his Mk3 VR6 Golf on air ride.











I recently purchased some Perrin wing stabilisers, offered them up to the car to see what I thought and I think I'll get them fitted soon.









And I recently removed the blue mud flaps as they were on the car when I bought it and although I love the look of new age STi's with flaps I just didn't like the blue. I ordered a set of plain black ones from Scoobyworld but when they arrived they seemed marginally smaller and also the bracket holes were in a different position meaning they'd sit a lot higher which I didn't want. I spoke to Neil at Scoobyworld and he pulled it out the bag and managed to get me a one off set made without any holes for me to position them myself. I then had some vinyl stickers made up to match the door decals and here's an example. I'll get them finished and fitted this week hopefully :-)

Hi guys, been a while since an update and I've done a fair few more mods to the car.

Some of the bits you wouldn't really notice in pics are the Exedy pink stage 1 clutch which was supplied and fitted by Triton Motorsport in Bournemouth :-)

I also had the car at the paint shop for a week where I had the whole front end painted to repair some minor chips/scratches most of which were on the car when I bought it. He painted the bonnet, bumper and wings. I also asked him to paint the top blade of the rear boot spoiler as there was also a scratch from the previous owner along with a small stone chip on the passenger rear arch trim. Here's a few pics from John @ Auto Cosmetics in Gosport that carried out the work for me.

































Here's a pic of my new black STI mud flaps fitted...





I needed some new tyres so went for some semi slick street legal track tyres. I wanted some with a good wet grip rating so decided with the Nankang NS2R's. Done a fair few hundred miles on them already wet and dry and they really are phenomenal.








My brake pads were getting a little low so I decided with a full brake overhaul. I went for Performance Friction Z Rated pads front and rear, Goodridge stainless braided hoses all round and R1 Concepts cross drilled discs front and rear too. I had Jon at Triton Motorsport take on the upgrade for me along with a full brake fluid change.















Also decided I wanted to invest in a remote start system which after a bit of research basically meant ripping out the factory Sigma alarm and having a new upgrade fitted. I opted for the Clifford Concept 650 mkII with optional Intellistart along with a turbo timer. I can now start the car 5-10 mins before I get in it making sure the temps get up before I drive and also give it a cool down period when I park up :-)







Had the car serviced as well as Triton Motorsport, cars fitted with a HKS R-Suction intake so I managed to source a replacement foam filter, it was only then how filthy I realised the old one was :-O






New STI mats which I have a coating of Carbon Collective Repel :-)







Decided to swap out the black gloss fibreglass front splitter for a carbon one B-)













And lastly, I had a bit of a run in with a local tyre fitter when I went to get my semi slicks fitted, they decided to rip the wheel weights off with metal blades and used emery paper for removing the glue subsequently removing a lot of paint from the wheels. Couple long stories short, they ended up footing the bill for having the professionally refurbed costing nearly £500 :-O

I'm hoping to get a decent set of coilovers next as it currently only has OEM shocks with Tein springs.

Nice! Only 2 things wrong with it (IMO obviously!) The vortex abomination and those side skirt things. Leave them on evos.

Yeah a few people have mentioned about the vortex generator mate, I'm on the fence... It was on the car when I bought it but I must say I would have never fitted it myself. I kind of like it because it's different, but I'm also worried about damaging the roof and paint work if I try to remove it

The side skirt extensions are something I added along with rear matching bumper spats (not yet fitted) I do really like the look of them although probably not to everyone's taste, I'm having them custom made in carbon fibre to match the front lower splitter. Appreciate your comments though dude always good to hear other enthusiasts honest opinions

I wouldn't name the garage because they rectified the issue without any grief at all and although it was a ball ache, I basically got a free wheel refurb but they are only a small local family tyre fitting business anyway so not a national business.

 

Fair one. I have a heard a story (on here I think) about someone removing a vortex generator and taking half the roof's worth of a paint with it. Risky!

Well, I guess if they paid for the refurb, then fair play and excellent customer service, although it took you kicking up a stink for them to do anything about it though

There's some nice Hawks appearing on here at the mo, no doubt because it's still the best looking Scoob they made ;-).

Thanks mate, it was on the car when I bought it and I believe it's an Afterburner Raptor Angled Exit which is available from ScoobyWorld. I am on the lookout for a new system though so if you're interested let me know and I'll keep you posted
