It wasn't an option that he was given. Anyway, I think it's comon knowledge that the cars are generally quite fubar'd once they've finished with them so he didn't want it back. Apparently the Mustang forums are not too happy about him selling the car to them.

I take it from JC's commentary of events that the 3 amigos were not part of the convoy that was attacked and were it safe and sound elsewhere?

It was a deliberately provocative ploy that badly backfired on TG! Serves them right frankly!

Yes you can either believe the Argentinians, all the neutral observers, the Royal Navy itself and the entire assembled corps of war journalists as well as the radar traces all of which show it leaving the area or the 'secret government papers' discovered recently that showed it was heading to the Falklands

I do find it a bit strange that they would scrap them afterwards. In fact I am sure I have seen a picture on the net somewhere of the Bentley being cleaned after being ragged around the stage, not sure they would bother if scrapping it.

They tend to be development mules which from memory, have to be scrapped by law. Hence why Top Gear end up with some of them, nice bit of free advertising for the manufacturers and saves them having to scrap the cars themselves.

Yes it was the last of the non-emissions control cars, but it was also hideously ugly and massively overweight thanks to all the unnecessary additional steel used to make it look less tiny next to a Charger

Correct. No mention of a second car though.

Interesting that the article was written in 31st Jan 2013.
But the tax ran out July 2014.
Why would it still be taxed 18months after it was said to be scrapped?

Lets not even start on the geography of Europe being returned to its "rightful" owners
