Don't worry, he'll still remain a soft fluffy cat, not turn into a lion or anything like that. It's not going to happen, I can assure you that.

Oh. In that case, he won't turn into a real bear, so nothing to worry about. Cats are cats. Fluffy, cute and friendly. Simple. Not the cats, I mean. Cats are not simple. They're actually quite intelligent. They're just mellow rather than predatory wild types. Well, unless you're talking a wild cat. Serval, Savannah and that undernourished looking thing Siamese are the ones to be mildly scared about. Your Maine Coon will never have a heart to harm you or anyone; mice, spiders and birds excluded. Fat means cuddly for cats like yours and mine.
Lol my common cat Lord Rubix is quite fat at merely 7kg for his type. When he walks about upstairs, the whole house shakes! Of course I'm exaggerating, but honestly, in the beginning I had to check because it sounded like someone walking about when everyone else was either out or downstairs. But after 6-7 years of having him in the house I'm used to the fact that it's our B&W fatty throwing his weight about. He's not lazy but very stubborn and trusting. As I said before, once he's nested on the sofa or bed, he won't bleddy move, even if you shake him!
When our little one i.e. Lady Coco strolls about, we hear just her long and curly claws on our wooden floors. But never as heavy as to ever hear them from upstairs when we're sitting in the lounge downstairs.
He's that big he blocks the stairs and refuses to move.

Mind you, someone's 22lb Himalayan cat turned on them, scratched their baby and kept the family hostage in their bedroom. Family had to call police.

So, yes, some cuddly cats can be just a bit unpredictable.

I would love a Bengal, got two moggies, one black and one tabby which are long haired and both brothers despite totally different markings and the black one is a beast at 8.5 kilos (not fat).
Never thought about a Bengal until i saw them on pinterest, now really want one in the future.
Got a 4 month old cocker spaniel which the cats are showing who is boss at the moment.
Our black cat is afraid of nothing and happily stands his ground against huge dogs.
I can imagine a Bengal being a handful when they attack anything but still really want one.

Cats are like dogs, they more often than not need to be well socialised or handled copious amounts as kittens. Not doing this makes them aggressive or shy.
TBH we have to keep our 3yo son and biggest Maine Coon apart as the Maine Coon tries to playfully take him down. There's only 9lbs difference between them

Haha good name.
That's more than enough. All I want is from mine is them to just exist; shedding shed loads of joy and their hair around the house. It's a bonus that they catch mice, but even if they didn't, I wouldn't mind at all.
Their cuteness makes my heart melt; their sleep induces relaxation in me; their calmness brings my blood pressure down (I don't have high BP issue anyway, but if you get my meaning) and their deep looks with their non-verbal communication make me feel understood. That's enough for me. Whether they understand me or not is not a problem. I don't blame them if they don't tbh.
Dogs, on contrary, do my head in with their constant attention seeking. They are quite lovely, but I wish they were as independent as cats. Be more cat, dogs! Be more cat!

Well she's growing
Proper shouts for food or when we get in from work...
Alls still good though , wants to be best friends with the bitch American bulldog and wants to attack the male , he's a tough lad though so can take it.
Fell in the bath 3-4 times now , no one can get in the bath or shower without her being there.
Must admit though she goes absolutely crackers at about 11pm for half a hour running and jumping all over the house.

It's heartwarming to see a kitty rest carefree in a human's arms like this; fast asleep and oblivious of the usual worldly worries. With the secure bond they form with humans, they're less needy and so very trusting in compare to lovely but always attention seeking dogs. Good to know she's doing well, donny andi.

I think it'll show both cats enjoying cardboard boxes!
A lot of big cat sanctuary's have dogs in the pen with the cats without incident, I've seen plenty of vid clips of big cats playing with much smaller animals. I suppose most mammals can bond if you introduce/socialise early enough.
Apparently this small cat broke into a Lynx enclosure and formed a bond with larger cat! Isn't there a bloke who approaches Lion Prides and interacts without incident? I suppose if any cat is well fed, stroke it!

TBH I think domestic cats are the most feared animal on the planet. Not because of their size or aggression but because of the threat they pose to eyes. I've seen house cats chase off foxes, dogs, bears and even alligators.
I even saw one run down an STi once.

I did say that, like.
Good picture, but somehow, it looks photoshopped. I may be wrong, like.
No, you'll have to be careful. Unless you know that that big cat is used to humans being friends with it, I wouldn't be so cocky to give it a stroke. One stroke by it could cost me my life, like.

It's a genuine pic from a widely reported story.

By the way, the vid in the article is mesmerising! I could watch it on repeat for hours!

My cousin has a ragdoll, the craziest cat you could ever meet, it shimmies up door frames and also wants to be spun on the computer chair all day. Big too, around 14lbs.

I hear that these ragdoll cats can be quite daft in an endearing way. A friend of mine has two. They walk around on the table that have candles on, and they obliviously get their tail singed with the flame. That's a bit freaky but you just want to cuddle them for being so dense! They also won't go outside the house. She has to literally lift them in her arms and dump them on her back garden. They just sit there like two teddy bear toys, take no exercise and get back in when the back door is opened again.
I hear that Maine Coons are also quite daft and sometimes do not move from the middle of the road, even when they know that a car is coming toward their way. Apparently they just look at the car with blank eyes and the car has to put the brakes on LOL
