Hi friends, i have a 2.5 p1 with gt3076 turbo and link g4+ ecu for fast road car and i love the ej257. Maybe in 450hp the car drive very well and its very fun with dccd and jdm 6 speed gearbox.
Time ago i was running in a forged 2.0 and i prefer 2.5
Please sorry for my bad english

Hi there newbie to this site. Owning a p1 myself for over 4 yrs now had 3 engine rebuilds over the years (apparent subaru specialist) and now waiting on my 4th 🙈 spent around £10000/£12000 with a previous company well it's actually only 1 bloke by himself but anyway I'm back to square 1 now so not a good way to spend that type of money and basically start again.
I have now taken her to Api for a 2.5 build around 460/480bhp with more torque previous had 2.0 around 350bhp which will be your limit with a 5speed gearbox and clearly over the limit my supposed forged engine could handle.
Are you going 6speed setup too?

To be honest there's people selling forged 2.5's in saloons for 2/3k , got offered a full car the last week for 3k, the price of the engine alone comes to 3,000 with all the upgrades, obviously with provided reciepts, then I'd have the shell , 5spd box, standard p1 engine to strip n scrape money back , but yeah I would go 6 speed just because I'm driving the rb now and couldn't imagine driving this engine with 5spd, the ratios must be shorter or something
