You clearly know nothing about Scotland or its people, or the reality of what is actually happening. But then I woudn't expect someone who lives and works in the **** end of nowhere and relies on google and the media for his information sourcing (and is, by his own admission an arrogant ****) to have (or even want to have) a sense of reality about any of this.

Stick to providing theoretical analysis for IFA's rather than trying to tell a Scot what its like in Scotland. If that's what you actually do.

Silly boy….

- I’ve taken the propeller-engined flight from Bristol airport into Edinburgh more times than I can remember.
- I’ve been waited on in the executive dinning room on the 7th floor in the Standard Life offices behind Princes Street.
- I‘ve conferenced at the Pollock Halls, skied (fallen over mostly) in Aviemoor, camped for weeks in Perthshire (the only county in Britain that compares to Powys for sheer beauty!), skimmed stones on Loch Tay, been greyed out in Fort William.
- I‘ve stared in awe at Edinburgh Castle on the hill lit up at night.
- I’ve driven up from Hexham to Edinburgh through Keilder Forest just to grab an evening meal and then struggled 3 hours back again in falling snow.

- I’ve arranged for Scots with in-demand financial IT skills to come down to contract on my systems development team in the South.
- My IT Projects Director at Barclays was a Scot from Orkney (said she’d never go back to that “oppressively stifling place” again).
- My family GP is a Scot (staunch “No”).
- The Chair of the charity that I am Treasurer of is Scottish (rabid, un-silenceable “Yes”-er). Her uncle's book on Scottish Home Rule is on my bedside table.

But you’re right, I’ve no idea what it’s like in Scotland and I hardly know any Scots. But I know how people behave.

What’s been your involvement with the “**** end of nowhere”, Devildog?

My surname is Scottish so I win.

I hope it's yes just to see the banks get in a strop.

I hope whiskey doesn't go up in price though...

What does it matter if Whiskey goes up in price? That is a decision for the Irish.

However if Whisky goes up then that is a different matter

… then later on Friday…
The London Stock Market will see its largest gains in 3 years.

Brent Crude will fall by $1 per barrel.

Salmond - the UK’s greatest politician (!) - and Sturgeon (the UK’s greatest assistant politician) will stand on stage and take their bows and say, “Yeah, but didn’t we give Westminster a kicking! Look what they had to give us to bribe us to stay!”

… then on Saturday…
The Tory party knives will come out for Cameron for promising to cede new powers to Scotland as well as missing an opportunity to wipe out Labour for the next 50 years….

… then on Monday…
All hell will break loose in UK politics as the clamour for regional devolution takes off and the “Why can’t we have what you promised the Scots?” questions start.

… then after that…
UK politics will never be the same again.

I assume you realise my post was something of a jape (despite how tiresome)?

Don't forget 16 and 17 years vote, and there's carrys the same weight as anyone else's

I would expect them to be more optimistic (in general), more on the YES side

Less swayed by the doom and gloom mongers , less fearful

Fascinating still - I'll say 55 yes - and a shock to the pollsters

Aviemore? I only visited once, the facilities weren't good enough to warrant a return visit. But thanks for the correction.

No, and you're obviously disappointed about that.
But at least now you've revealed the basis of the attention you're heaping on me.

Speaking to my esteemed colleagues north of the border, the indications are that No is going to win clearly. How they can say that I don't know, as I haven't seen any exit polls. It all sems to be based on the fact that bookies odds for No and now odds on.

Maybe the bookies know something we don't..........

Well if they split from England the first thing that'll happen will be a big fence and immigration gates installed at the border ;-)
