What is he wittering on about.

Android is the counter to apple and blackberry for a system, and Google had shed loads of cash to throw at it.

Apple merely stole touchscreen design from lg viewty

Here you go children http://www.androidauthority.com/goog...-device-83468/

"Troughton-Smith says that “it’s quite clear that Android was being designed to a completely different target before the iPhone was released” and that Apple’s gadget determined Google to change its perspective and step up its game a notch."

Viewty, LOL, that old chestnut, do you really think if you used a Viewty it would in any way resemble using phones of the present? Theres more to current devices than a lack of buttons and that's all the viewty had, blimey I remember people telling me I'd made a mistake buying the iPhone, should have bought a Viewty... ****ing LOL.

That's still pretty simple though isn't it, iOS, look at the iPhone, Android, see my picture above. Android didn't support touchscreen's isn't that alone enough to help you understand how the iPhone influenced the device you now wear on your wrist.

Love your work Jack They are like lambs to the slaughter the anti Apple mob... every thread you create brings them out in numbers with their ever more ludicrous justifications for why Apple are crap. Keep it up

Of course. But the iPhone was so disruptive that it changed the direction of mobile devices, nothing else has done that.

The Watch will do the same. Like the iPhone the Watch will bring new thinking to the wearable market, Apple are good at thinking. This will benefit everyone who uses wearable tech except the Apple Haters, they'll just become even more bitter and that's a shame.

Disruptive. ?

Whatever.

Apple copied other touchscreen phones and somehow convince people they require apps, which are just shortcuts to websites .

Now, they're trying to make everybody wear a watch again, when it's irrelevant since they have a smartphone

You've clearly not viewed the threads started by Jack then. You know we've in for a fight when he starts claiming game changer, best thing since sliced bread, iDevice = better that the elixir of life and other sycophantic claims. At least they are good natured and usually do stay on course and centred on the original posting though.

10 apps isn't enough? I have quite a few I only use once in a blue moon, do those count? One will be an astronomy app for the eclipse, it's amazing what you can achieve with multitouch, motion sensors, GPS and an app, we can all thank Apple for that.

This one really is a game changer, have a look at online stores for watches, your average watches, someone showed me a comparison web page that tracked prices, they're doomed.

No Apple didn't change the game, they're just playing catch up again jumping on the wearable tech bandwagon. Android had watches long before Apple did. If you look at the Apple Watch it bears more than a passing similarity to Samsung's Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, like accelerometer, heart rate sensor and gyroscope, black boarder around the a same square touch screen, **** it even copies Samsung's "rounded square" shape too. Apple have come into the market years late to be considered game changing, Watch is not even an innovative idea, Samsung amongst others were there first.

This thread is silly.

Smartphones came before the iPhone, but Apple's clever and thoughtful design made them properly usable.

Tablets came before the iPad, but Apple's clever and thoughtful design made them properly usable.

It will be the same with watches and there's little point being in denial about it.

There's a big difference between first and best, Apple didn't rush out a watch because Samsung did.

To be honest I don't really give a flying bejazzle. Anyway if you want a watch that is truly luxurious, that has unmistakable class and a price tag that is truly deserving of its heritage in precision time pieces you'll have to wait a bit longer:

Like you said, there is a big difference, to being the first "luxury" Watch and being the best luxury watch.

You realise they wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't for Apple.

If you read the actual article rather than that blog spam "One analyst linked the move to Apple's entry into the market." so it's not just me.

Tag tried the phone market too, it did really well, mostly due to it's fabulous design.

That was only £6,000 I hope the watch costs more than that.

This is too good not to watch, great recommendation Jon I'm sure you'll love your watch.

Tag aren't really a luxury watch brand though are they? They're bottom end of the watch market in reality. Android kind of suits them
