I had to jailbreak it to use it, then had to unlock it once the first exploit went public. They were only available in the US at the time. It was tricky.

Why don't you fools just put a link to the iPod, iPhone and iPad threads, all of which I said would be great, all of which you said would fail, same comments, all of which have made you sad fools look more stupid.

Different approach.
Put all the specs and "features" to one side for a moment.
Which device is more pleasurable and effective to use?
All this stuff about skins and icons is BS only nerds play with their phones like that anyway and playing is what it is.
Having used iPhones (3GS and 4S) and Android (S4) my opinion is that Android is clunky, ugly over complex, unintuitive and just generally nasty. In a similar way to if you compare Windows 7 to Linux. iOS is more developed, more intuitive, more polished and is just a pleasure to use by comparison.
I really tried to love my S4 but Android still feels like the cheap imitation it is and all the customizing options etc can not cover that up.
Sorry droid fans your phones are cheap for a reason.

Ipad 2 for me for a tablet all the way, nothing else touches it and none of the later revisions interest me at all as they haven't been 'game changing' since the release of the 2.
For a phone though it's android all the way. I had iphones, 3g and 4 and whilst they were great at the time as soon as the big screen android phones came along I jumped ship as a bigger screen (within reason) = more usability for web browsing and gaming and overall viewing experience and add to that if I find a file on the web that I want to download and keep I can with android, I couldn't on my iphones which annoyed me and would have to wait until I got home and get on a PC to then go and browse for it and download.
Again in my personal opinion none of the iphones have been game changing since the iphone 4 and so haven't interested me in the slightest. The 6 plus doesn't interest me now as it's behind the times, the Samsung Note series have been doing that size for 3 years and now on the 4th revision and it's the Note 4 I am waiting to see in the flesh and what price it will be before I decide on whether it's time for a new phone.

I'll order an iP6 tomorrow then tell you all how cr4p it is.
I'm not an Apple fanboi but for our business, Macs and iphone just work better together.
Our Macs are getting on for three years old; they still work fine. Our PC laptops lasted about 18 months then were useless.
Our phones restore easily when we replace them. They don't crash. They are small and compact. They last well.
So yes, for the geek (of which there are many on here) a slightly better CPU, bigger screen, customisation and so on are seem as superior but got those that just want their stuff to work and last a long time, Apple still rules.
I'd compare an iphone to a lowish spec BMW 330d SE and Android to a fully loaded Vauxhall Astra VXR with all the extra "sporty" bodykit.
The Astra might be faster and do more but which would you have?

Same here; stuck to MS and Android for ages, finally saw the light. Apple is by no means perfect but they definitely work better and last years. Which for business, is all you need. And that's why I'm prepared to spend more on their stuff.

I have to admit Apples backup works great and there is just enough storage on my free icloud for all our ipads and ipods. I recently got rid of my 32g ipad mini for a 32g ipad air and it took minutes to add the old back to the new ipad but where as my Samsung phone you basically start again and copy your apps indendently for the playstore.

Yes they can, that is exactly what the Android launchers do! I will admit the standard UI on Samsung devices, Touchwiz is slow, clunky and ****! it always has been. So you apply a FREE launcher (there are hundreds to choose from) my favourite is Nova Prime and it not only gives you the BS features you mentioned but makes the whole user interface incredibly fast and a lot slicker than what you would experience on a 4s or 5s. I know this as i have a 5s for work and its **** in comparison for virtually all tasks i need it for compared to my old S3 or current S5.

One thing samsung and htc cant match is apple support. One fault I had on my 5, book an appt at apple store, 5 mins after arriving I have a new phone in my hand. 10 mins later icloud has restored and I wouldn't even know it was a diff phone.
I don't really need a new phone. I am not one to queue up on release day. I just order one online and sit back. It usually costs me nothing, in fact I make money on cashbacks and selling my old phone so for me its a no brainer. If that makes me an isheep then whatever.

Genuine question. NFC is banded about as being available on android phones for ages. But is it actually used in the real world? Love or loathe apple you know they will make it work and get partners onboard.

No I am not as I can honestly say I have never seen anyone pay for something using their phone. So can you use it anywhere that offers contactless or only participating contactless retailies? For me so far contactless card payment seems to be limited to Mcdonalds, Subway, Post Office and Showcase Cinemas.
Do you have to unlock your phone or just present it near the terminal like you do with your contactless card? Subway I could see it being handy as I get my phone out anyway to use my subcard. Otherwise I’m not sure it’s any easier than getting my card out.
