So today was the day, Tim Farmer fitted my competition clutch stage 2 and a skimmed standard flywheel.

All I can say is WOW, the feel and biting point compared to the old clutch is fantastic. The bite is at the bottom rather than the top on the old clutch, and I all most taleed it the first couple of times.

I would say the clutch pedal feels slightly harder over the standard, but nothing to worry about.


When Tim was sorting the clutch out, I got the exhaust wrap and gave the sports cat a good wrap.

I forgot to get any picture of the fitting of the clutch, as was too busy on the downpipe :-(


next on the cards is a 500 mile break in for the clutch, a turbo blanket, then re-map.

i have the same car jdm bug sti same colour pretty much same spec! Like this thread I'm thinking of going lip spoiler too, let me know how you get on

nothing tooo exciting here, I noticed during the clutch change that the top radiator hose was catching on the radiator fan.

on closer inspection, the fan has cut a fair way into the pipe.

next up is a 2 gauge pod.

it is made by Autometer, product code 20015

I would say it is made for the left hand drive scoobs, as the fit is good, but not like standard. over all I am happy with it, and can live with the small gap on the right.

today I fitted a turbo blanket. Nothing special, just a ebay special. It is a T3 size.

It is not the best fit, but will be better than nothing at all, and keep some of the heat away from the tmic

I'm intrigued by the turbo blanket. I'm relatively new to playing with forced induction engines, so sorry for asking obvious questions.
I take it the blanket works like wrapping an exhaust keeping the energy and pressure up in the system and helping reduce engine bay temps?
Is there any downside to them? Will keeping the turbo hot lead to any long term reliability issues?
