Im getting tired of explaining myself to be honest!
I don't know why its so hard to believe that a modified car that is known for its supercar slaying performance in standard guise,is showing these cars up in modified form!

I currently own an SL55 and it isn't a supercar, but it in standard form it would make a standard WRX look silly in any sort of acceleration test.... and I mean very silly!

Mate I like WRXs, I have owned a few and they are very capable quick cars, but supercar slayers they are not regardless of what you hear people say.

This all started because i said i done an a45. Everyone else has escalated it and started the wrx war!
I don't even personally claim a wrx to be the best car in the world and am thinking of actually selling mine soon, even though i can't decide what to get instead.
Ps. You have a sl55? The 55s are super charged! And if yours is tuned,it should be very fast! A sl50 or similar merc is n/a and i might surprise one of those with my car!

Now, now boys play nicely.
I'm not going to get into the my d1ck is bigger than yours part of this argument, BUT as I said earlier, it's not all about power, it's about being able to put that power down and translate it into forward movement.
You won't find a bigger RWD enthusiast than me as it's where I cut my teeth as a young un, but TBH you need big hairy ***** to be able to control a powerful RWD car on anything but a nice clean dry bit of grippy tarmac, all well and good quoting numbers and stats but the number of times and places one has the opportunity to put them to good use is in reality quite limited especially in the UK.
Which is why cars like the GTR come with all manner of gadgets to keep them pointing in the right direction, even though it's actually 4wd it has the power to overwhelm the limits of grip, especially when placed in the hands of your average driver that has more money than talent.
Personally I know exactly what my wagon is capable of and TBH it ain't that great in any department, mostly because it's a compromise in just about every department, it's neither one thing nor the other, but at this moment in time it ticks all my boxes. Modded they can be made to go quite well and indeed punch above their weight.
But come on even though I am not a fan of new cars and all the technology they possess if you put all the cars mentioned above side by side and said pick one I don't think there is one person amongst us that would be grabbing the keys for the Wagon and running over to it grinning like a cheshire cat.

Sorry if my commitment may appear lacking but to drive 100s of miles to "race" someone I don't know in an old WRX just lacks appeal somewhat.
My proof is easy to access - my car is standard; there are 100s of tests of it (although few are post July 13 when launch control was fitted - mine in a Jan 14 car so has it), videos, comparisons, track tests (the M135i takes some serious scalps on some tracks but the Ring time, done on a busy day with a non pro driver, isn't so good; the TG time is rather amazing), etc.
Stacks have been dyno'd - stock bhp is 320 but most are showing more like 340. Stock torque is 335lbs-ft from 1300rpm but again most are 350ish. Weight is standard (I have a fair few options but purposefully resisted "heavy" ones like the 12 speaker hifi, eletric seats, etc), tyres are OEM and so on.
What I won't be doing is fitting a JB4 to boost bhp then claiming I can take on full fat supercars.
So unless you can post a vid of these claims or links to accurate numbers for your EXACT mods, you're just spouting hot air.
My proof is my V5. Simple.

i know what im doing modifying wise, the wrx is the poor relation in saloon form the wagon is just epic fail.
also on a gearbox point long gears dont help acceleration thats why f1 cars are now 8 speed and change quickly to keep in the power band.
and they have proper turbos not vf35s

sorry yes was a typo sorry,
WRXs used to be car slayers, and that I mean when these were about
the BHP from a Scooby back then was great, prob they have now is their not special, in my own view I think Subaru should be around the 400 450 even 500 to keep the flag flying.
As we all flamed poor old hulkster a while back, and he got burnt its just not good anymore, and I think the thing that puts me off the most is Rd TAX and fuel.
As for a GTR well another class of car im afraid I wouldn't even attempt to have a crack at one, Id love one but cost of ownership is prob quite high compared to my A45.
However I,ll give Subaru this, the foresters and other model seem to last the best, if your not bothered about your cars, quite often see Y reg ones floating about, cant say that about any ford. Sierras well all dead I think bar a few special kept ones...

But I've already proved it to the cars I've came up against! You're just assuming your humble bimmer would be just as quick and hey, maybe it is but unless you have raced similar cars to me with the same outcome, you won't know! If you want to come to me and show me what ya got, thats cool with me..
Now you put up or shut up!!
