We regret the day we let this poor excuse of a man into our lives he turned our world upside down. we have been living a nightmare for 8 long years.he promised us everything but we got nothing,he was extremely good at talking the talk, we believed he could turn our single turbo into a twin turbo monster.we handed over several thousands of pounds for work to be done he asked for money upfront for parts which we thought was a reasonable request at first but he just kept asking for more, telling us he needed money to purchase parts from the abroad,we told him we would put it on our card he very quickly refused giving us some excuse he got discount,we know now he was robbing 1 person to pay for another persons stuff, out of the blue one day we received a call from rouge motorsport where my block had been taken to have work done which we had paid marc for, to be asked to pay for work done or my block was being sold on ebay, we was given no choice but to go and pay for it again marc then promised it would be completed so stupidly i returned it to him,i received a block back but it was not mine it was someone else's,we had to help a friend buy 2 subarus off customers as we suggested marc build (steal) their engines to stop his garage a bad name, marc promised to build a return them we still have not received them full of false promises the list is endless of what this poor excuse of a man has done not only to my family but to others, his texts make some interesting reading we still have 8 years of texts sent and received the excuses he has used over the years are unbelievable with close family members dying and he has suffered every illness known to man, we live in hope one day he will keep what he deserves, as much hurt and heartache as we have all suffered KARMA is a bitch and it will bite you on the **** very soon.just can't wait to see it.

This just keeps getting worse!!!

It's the same every time he earns your trust then rinses you.
This is a true conman make no mistake.
He has so many downright damning accounts of his actions and yet the prat is still taking people's cars today.

He does not deserve to even hold a spanner let alone work on people's pride and joy.

It's the aftermath he leaves behind that is worse than losing the car or parts/money.

The guy will make you hate your car and his bullsh** so much in the end you will be happy for him to keep what's left of your car. just so you don't have to listen to his verbal diarrhoea.

He has caused his victims so much stress in their lives and usually it's taken out on their nearest and dearest as I am afraid that's in our nature to take it out on the ones we love.

This guy could turn a saint into the devil with his total lack of conscience for people's feelings.

We have all got to stick with this and take him down once and for all in a legal amicable manner .

This I am afraid has to be done by the book.

Sorry but the law in this country being what it is I doubt any of you will get anything much from this guy and he knows it, even if you do get him to court he will just lie his *** off and tell the same tales of woe to the judge, be very sorry and apologetic and walk away with a smile on his face, your money in his pockets and your parts stashed away somewhere.

He's been at this for more than 8yrs and he's still going judging by the prat's that despite this thread are still willing to give him the "benefit of the doubt" over yet another car.

Drag him through the process by all means but just don't expect too much from it.

I hope you lot are plotting something in the background, all I've heard from this thread is tales of woe and no action. People like him can smell a victim a mile away.

Let down once again!!!! I`m now awaiting a phone call from the police today as I`ve now been told by the police that it will be this afternoon. Surely even the police must now act because if it`s not returned today as promised it must be classed as stolen! It is becoming a joke. I spoke to Trading Standards today and the good news is they are interested so I will PM you guys who have been victims the details after my meeting with them on Monday. Also has anyone in the past spoken to the Trading Standards about Marc? The reason I ask is it could be very very helpful if that has been the case.

To permanently deprive someone of there property is classed as theft. For example if you loaned me your nice shinny lawn mower to cut my lawn then after you repeatedly requested it back and I wouldn't return it I could be arrested for theft. That's the Law

I'm not arguing with you I'm only repeating what my solicitor and the police officer I'm dealing with have told me.
The lawn mower story is the example the solicitor gave me.

Can someone else point us to the links whereby this is also being discussed?
This is the only forum that lists anything to do with this man. And I'm finding it even more strange that people are managing to register up and post their experience after the events took place 8 years ago? Far too much of a coincidence, or are these people searching his name everyday on Google?

Everything looks a bit fishy to me.

I can see what he means. Google only seems to bring up this thread, and people mention he has always had loads of cars at his house so you'd think they'd be more written elsewhere on this chap.

I sold my impreza 6 years ago thus not owning a vehicle covered by this forum
I had not given this guy a second thought since he screwed me over until I got a call from a friend who also had major issues with this con man he pointed me in the direction of the posts I read them and then felt I should share with the forum members my experiences as what he does to people is wrong it's just criminal the way he goes on
I am sure that in the beginning of my woes it was just down to him wanting to be something he could never be without investment
He makes you believe things that are simply not true you end up so financially tied to him you have to keep feeding him money in the hope that one day you will get your property back I would stand in front of any judge and present my case to them or anyone else for that matter he needs stopping
One day this will all be out in the open that's a day I look forward to
I will be sad for his child because as that child grows up it will be moved from puller to post just to avoid its fathers situations
I would like to think maybe it's time Marc manned up and faced up to what he has done it's really the only course of action left

That's what I mean. If it was such a big deal several other people would have put this forward on other car forums. And more to the point if it's a DC2 thats gone missing why isn't there anything on the Type R forums or EK9.org or the like?

Everything sounds very scrappy and messy in this situation. All these people registering now who have had 'previous dealings' with this guy have been waiting 8 years until they speak up?

I know for a fact that if some guy had my property no matter how friendly and ill that guy is, wouldn't return it and kept giving me repeated excuses it would send alarm bells ringing and I wouldn't be sitting back going oh well he's got my money now and then return for a whinge after 8 years. I would have found out everything about him, I would have took back what was rightfully mine, and certainly make sure he wouldn't continue to do it again. It would all be noted to the police and trading standards and most importantly put out to all the main forums for the admins to post at their own will to warn other users to be logged for future reference.

Yet the sheer fact you guys managed to get yourselves tangled up in this whole ordeal in the first place then sit back after its happened baffles me even more.

I wouldn't stop until something was done. I'm not saying I'm not believing you but it is extremely hard to understand that it's taken so long for someone to raise awareness of this guy. All I can see is 2 cases in 8 years?

If the police aren't going to do anything about it then take the matters into your own hands, the vehicle is registered to you, you own the V5, do your homework, round up some lads and take back what is rightfully yours.

I'm relatively new to Japanese cars and have not been on any forums prior to this one. The only reason I joined this one was for research purposes as I was looking to buy a certain car which when I googled it was one mentioned a few times on this site so I joined to find out more.ive since bought the car a Subaru. I started this thread on this site as I knew that this Marc character was mainly a Subaru man, now I know there are other sites but it's time consuming keeping up on this one alone. Why I'm on the subject of google I put Marc's name into google but the only Marc Schnit/Smit tuner and the only one i found was a piano tuner! Now I can only imagine that anything put on any forums in the past had been taken down which is what happened to a thread started about Marc in 2012. The link is on this thread now as the moderaters put it back on. Now you say at the end of your post and I quote' round up some lads and take back what's rightfully yours' great idea if you new where it was! But then you turn up with the 'lads' what happens next? Your arrested and told to stay away from him and his home, now this has happened to people who have already tried that. But getting back to why Marc is not plastered over the Internet I can't tell you but to insinuate that the victims of this man how ever stupid and niaive we have been have made this whole thing up is ridiculous. This thread was started to make people aware of this man and what he's capable of and also to get my and other people property returned. I finally collected my car Cheltenham police station yesterday, the car has no brakes no radiator no supercharger no manifold / exhaust etc etc so I'm still waiting for all my items to be returned. I'd like to thank the police for there help so far and he has assured me that he will make sure I get all my items returned to me next week.

hat a load of ridicule!!
Why would people make up this scenario.
"Fishy" in what pretence??

Victims have taken time and effort and not to mention hurt pride, to come together on here and help and warn each other of a threat to the scooby/car community.

It's all fine and good saying we have been silly and it wouldn't happen to you with your boys and baseball bats.

Where is that going to get you.. Locked up and on the wrong side of the law, with no chance of getting your property or funds back.

Some people have family's to support and successful businesses to run why would you jeprodize that?

This individual causes enough heartache and stress without you wasting years of your life in a cell due to seeing red.

Now please take time to think before voicing purely negative comments.

We don't all have time to be keyboard warriors on x10 forums so please respect peoples feelings and thoughts.

The guy has so many different name spellings maybe a reason he is hard to track down.

Keep the thread positive and alive.. There is no place for negativity in these scenarios.

Not fishy at all. I've been in the Scooby scene for over twelve years and on here since around 2004. I'm well aware of this Smit character. I could easily question your post, you've been here for just over a year and have a handful of posts. Hmmm.

I'm glad you got your car back pal it's a start!

And fingers crossed the rest turns up for you, exactly the same with us, car came back missing any decent parts just like yourself.

For those of you that think we crazy for letting it happen, in hindsight which is a great thing btw it would never of happened, have none of you ever done something regardless of how big or small and afterwards you've thought ****!

You don't know how it all came about, and Darren was very unlucky with his car and would have no reason to question anything the same as we didn't, especially when you see him working in a garage locally mapping and doing mechanical work.

The guy knows what he's up to, he robs Peter to pay Paul and it continuously goes round and round and round until people speak up, even if that is from 6/7/8 years ago, so what! It all helps build a bigger picture for somebody who may stumble across this thread and think of leaving their pride and joy with him. If nobody speaks up then nothing will get done! I tried to over 2 years ago but people thought I was taking the pěss and thought it was a wind up, if that's what people want to think then so be it. People who have spoken up are trying to stop him, it's not to give people reading material on here to pick holes in.

It's a bit hard to collect property when it's been moved around and he's never at his address, or when he is his mrs who apparently has left him many many times before Is hiding him away up stairs whilst he phones the police. The law in this country is just fecked up and that's a fact, I don't understand what the point is in having police which are paid for by us the tax payer to just sit there and not help and covers the guilty party. If it was different then threads like this wouldn't appear. The guys a very disliked man around here where I live and not all are on this said forum. There was further threads a while back, I've tried to find them again but have had no joy, the threads didn't have his name mentioned on the title it was in to the thread, granted I found 3 in total but there were more people involved through the thread again just like this one.

It's a start Darren, you know the score keep hounding him pal keep us up to date with further developments buddy hope it all comes good for you
