Yep, I laughed as I thought it was a joke. I am sure it was a better car, but looks wise it was a crying shame compared to the classic iconic Impreza!

I'd describe it as a road legal track car, there aren't many standard Impreza models that could be much more extreme than it.

Am with u there . It may of been a better car ? May be . But looks . Come on the classic Subaru is the one to have . And with added mods & handling mod wise the classic is a better car .

.... The S202 I have as well is better Unless you've driven production special editions you simply can't appreciate how well thought out and executed they are And this is coming from a die hard GC8 fanatic !

I keep meaning to sell mine, but as soon as I look at it I fall in love over and over again. STi Prodrive style in 08V black. Fookin sexy.

99% of the time I would have agreed with you, however, in my old age I began to appreciate the bugeye and its uniqueness - it really has grown on me, its actually quite rare, I never see any here. Anyway cutting the blah blah I bought a Bugeye STi and I would not look back, I think it is unique, rare (here, I haven't seen one here this year) and an awesome car for the money with a few tasteful mods, Blobs however I see everywhere.

The thing is, the bugeye looks disgusting in standard factory guise whereas the classics naturally look relatively good. All the cars that have been posted here have subtle mods and enhancements to make them look acceptable 
. Also remember that we're talking about a WRX, not STI's or S202's.

I agree that the WRX Bugeye takes some getting used too, the design of the car itself is a grower but the headlamps were definite a mistake on the WRX model, there's just too much reflector / chrome behind the lens.
