So much for the 'F1 is ****e' comments after one race. That was one of the best races I have seen for a while and it was all about strategy. Which is even more of a reason to bring back refuelling.
Well done to Vettel and Ferrari. A thoroughly deserved win.
Also a good improvement from McLaren. It bodes very well for the future.
I hope Christian Horner will now shut his trap and about equalization. You want to win? Make your own bloody engine!

Mercedes definitely dropped the strategy ball with their tyre choices in qualifying and the race, great improvement from Ferrari though for a well deserved win. Williams seem to have lost a bit of ground but hopefully just a temporary glitch.

So it's a big improvement from them..

It was great strategy by Ferrari but I doubt Vettel will seriously threaten the Mercedes drivers this season unless they take a lot of points off each other and have some reliability issues.

Just half-watching this now.
The idiots on the ship-to-shore radio have always irritated me with some of the garbage and obvious stuff they come out with, and the way they do it rather like they are basking in the limelight.
Lewis Hamilton just boll@cked his for starting up as he was cornering and nearly causing him to crash.
Down the straights, short and sweet. That's how it should be.

I never thought I'd ever be glad to see Vettle on the podium with a win! Well done! Last time we saw a German in a Ferrari win in Sepang was with Schuey in 2004, maybe Vettle's victory will provide some small comfort for him.

I hate to say it but I have Vettel has completely changed my opinion of him in just 2 races.
May be Hamilton should have been working hard with his team over the winter rather than having stupid hair cuts and gay photo shoots.

McLaren middle of the pack in FP1/2 today. That is a massive rate of progress since being bottom of the timesheets 4 weeks ago.
Can they get on the podium before the end of the season? Win a race?

I'd imagine it'll start to slow down a bit soon, once they start chasing 10ths of seconds. That and once the engine tokens start to run out.

Tokens left to spend:
Ferrari: 10 tokens
Honda: 9 tokens
Mercedes: 7 tokens
Renault: 12 tokens

Was thinking the same during the race. It really does seem that Vettel wants to be part of Ferrari rather than just the number 1 driver. Apparently he was still at the track at 11.30pm helping the mechanics clear up. The last driver at the track as well. Can't see Hamilton doing that.

I was more impressed by vettle in the ferrari for the last race than all 4 of his championships (is it 4 or 3?), anyway whole point is redbull had a much better car than anyone else when he won the championships. Even di resta beat him in the same car.
I do find it rather amusing that redbull are the ones whinging about mercedes, ferrari have shown redbull are just sore loosers by prooving mercedes are beatable

1) He is British
2) He was given a proper run for his money by Rosberg and the team showed no favouritism to either driver.
3) He left McLaren to join Mercedes, a move for which most people including an awful lot on here (myself excluded of course) lambasted him for!

Three reasons I think
1) He is British
2) He was given a proper run for his money by Rosberg and the team showed no favouritism to either driver.
3) He left McLaren to join Mercedes, a move for which most people including an awful lot on here (myself excluded of course) lambasted him for!

Yes agreed, but what I mean is that there was no number 1 driver favouritism by the team and as such by a process of bad luck Lewis had to work at it! Vettel had the team on his side as well as the best car... Lewis just had the best car!

Hamilton's recent form reminds me of the dominance by Schumacher early last decade. If Mercedes continue to have a performance advantage over the rest of the field there's no reason why he can't win another couple of titles.
But for at least the short term he's a great driver in a great car - it will take a lot of hard work and luck for anyone to beat him.
