So there's been a fire at the rear, no impact, and they salvage parts from a front wishbone (for example). Zero issue with that. At all.
I doubt any team throws away certain reusable parts that have zero damage. They recyle tubs that have been in impacts ffs

I've visited a number of F1 teams and there attention to detail concerning reusing parts would seem like OCD in the extreme.
Mercedes and I'm sure all the teams completely strip the cars down and every reusable part is checked scrupulously for any sign of wear or damage by a nice man in a darkened room using luminous paint and a black light.
I'm not saying that Caterham are NOT doing this and neither am I saying that they are. To refit 'possibly' damaged parts to a car without fully checking them is sheer folly.

Dit dit dit dit..... F1 latest.
November 9th Bernie says "F1 teams will get no further funding" http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/29980194
November 19th Bernie says "They (Caterham) wanted to go, so we've transported them at no cost to them," http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/30116227
Is that funding or not? Strictly speaking that may not be a hand out, but it's certainly a hand up. Form an orderly queue starting with Force India
I think senility has taken a firm root in FOM.

Great quote from Eddie Jordan on the current state of FOM...
"Bernie says one thing to your paper, another thing to a different paper, and another thing to me. It is out of control. Nobody knows whether he means what he says or even knows what he is saying."

Can't say I disagree with much if any of that TBH. I don't see why someone who has the skill to be in the seat of an F1 car should be kept out of it because of some spoiled little rich shyte who's mummy and daddy has a few quid.

There are plenty in F1 media who talk crap, then there's the websites which just scrape news and republish it.
Has anyone ever questioned how EJ gets his so called "exclusives"? Someone feeds him the tips/info.

I see a lot of scaremongering and conjecture in there Chris.

At the end of the day what was said is of course just opinion, but at least it is a valid one!

However most of the 'gossip' from EJ ends up revealing more of substance than people generally give him credit for.

Finally, it is official. Alonso is leaving Ferrari. We all knew that but at least we are on step closer to knowing who goes where next year.

Maybe Alonsos contract stated that this replacement could not be confirmed before he had confirmed another drive.
Nuts I know, but it seems the only likely reason.
I just wish McLaren would stop pissing about and confirm Alonso and Button!
