hey guys, some really nice sti's you have. i have decided that i am after one now aswell as i miss the rumble so much.

i have noticed some of you have used mangoletsi to source your cars from with a 5 year warranty and a power upgrade......i have searched their website and i can find no info on this, is is still available and was it only on new orders?

im in 2 minds whether to buy new or used, is there much difference between 2015/2016/2017 models? ive seen some really great deals on low miles used versions which are tempting but the lure of owning a brand new car is hanging on my back.

cheers guys

Unfortunately not, Mango don't sell subarus anymore (apart from tradeins) they are purely alfa, jeep, fiat now.

Differences between 15-17 are just cosmetic, slightly better interior design, mechanically they are all the same.

Yep i guess it depends on your budget, you could pick up mine (reg'd in '14) for example around the 20-25K mark.

It's Northern Ireland so no problem whatsoever as all are cars are registered through dvla Swansea also so it's just a case of dealer filling in new keeper slip and that's it

I suspect you'd get that car even cheaper like around 21.5k if it was straight sale...market is very limited in northern Ireland for them

Also.....

At Agnew AutoStore, we can offer delivery of this vehicle throughout the UK & Ireland or alternatively collect clients from local boat terminals, airports or train stations.

Its in Higher Road Tax bracket. However, quite some saving could make up for it.

If you hang around you'll soon get one in the new 140 quid tax bracket.

I bought my STi recently and it's just been booked in for its 20,000 mile service this weekend with Subaru, it's Dark Grey Metallic.

So far, it's been very enjoyable and I'm getting along with it nicely - I'm delighted with the car.

The only issue I've had so far, is with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring alert, that corner appears to have a slow leak so I've asked Subaru to attend to it.

I wanted to dig into the knowledge bank and ask which are the first recommended modifications for the car?

I understand the following are advisable on any stock car for the longevity of the engine:
- Killer B oil pump pipe

http://www.killerbmotorsport.net/oil...ckup-ej25.html

- Some sort of crank case ventilation and catch can

http://rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk/st...oil-catch-tank

Aside from that, are there any other recommended preventative changes?

Many Thanks

CJ
Hi yes, don't mod the motor past 350brake without the appropriate parts, forged pistons etc, or it will go pop eventually. Otherwise the only other things are cosmetic issues with the earlier models, boot/trunk seal, petrol flap lever. And make sure you put at least 98/99ron petrol in the tank.

I use V Power as a matter of course with my cars. My car's petrol cap seems to behave nicely and the boot seal appears to be doing well - in my experience the best thing to do is remove the seals and dry them all out periodically anyway.

If I were to uprate the power, I would probably aim for 450-500bhp which I expect would require a forged build and several thousands of pounds spent - I'd probably go to RCM for it and I don't know if they even offer such a solution for the 2015 platform yet.

I don't even know (as of yet), what would actually need to be changed to reach that point.
Those cosmetic issues were mostly on the earlier 14/15 reg'd cars.

Yep RCM would be able to do that easily, it would more likely cost 10's of thousands from them though There's tons of options for the ej25 to get to those power levels from other tuners. To be honest for the road you don't really need more than 400 imo. If you intend tracking it then fair enough.

Mine is just running a tek3 remap and nothing more for 325bhp/345lbft and its perfect as a daily.

Default Front Seat Wear

The car is coming up to its 3rd Birthday so thinking about mentioning the Front Seat Wear (on the leather) on both seats to my dealer.
i remember seeing a thread about somewhere (but can't find it).
The car has only done 22k but the front seats look like it's done a lot more. Has anyone had any joy getting them replaced?
cheers
Neil

Thinking of changing the head unit. I have the screen one.

Does anyone know which harness I need to keep the wheel controls and telephone system? Looking at buying the Pioneer Z5000.

Also, has anyone changed the speakers in the car? Just wondering what size they are. Is there one in the centre console too?

I was under the impression from MY16 onwards the radio or nav unit was of the built in type, only the MY15 had a radio/satnav you could change out??
MY15

MY16 onwards

All have 4 door speakers and tweeters at either side of the dash

Looks as if concensus is speakers are 61/2" all round.
The premium sound system also has a sub woofer under the rear parcel shelf alongside the power amp
