Is attempted manslaughter a valid charge? Because that sums his actions up.
A total and utter bell-end that should be allowed another car again.

Hold on - to get to the pits area at Brands you first have to get into the paddock which on racedays is manned for permits/passes (the public can often enter the paddock but only on foot) he then needed to go through the tunnel to the pits. To get onto the circuit he would need to go down the pit lane (which he did) the exit onto the circuit is manned - how the hell did he get that far? I think a few heads may roll on the Brands staff?
Surely the £4000 per competitor is the race series fee, not the individual race?

Yep, I totally agree,

Yes the idiot shouldnt have done it, but on the same token the staff who are paid to stop this kind of thing obviously were not doing their jobs properly....

I think the guy is a complete pr1ck TBH, not only did he put his and her life at risk he also spoiled the race for the cars on track alot of which would have traveled the length and breadth of the country to get to.

Legend my ar$e, he's a complete selfish ****** with no thought for anyone but himself.

He drove a car for a lap, was hardly that dangerous was it, if it was they would have secured the track better.

Kind of interesting that the best the police could manage as an offence to arrest him for was "false imprisonment" innit?!?

it bloody was dangerous! Insufficiently secure track is part of the crapness of the case, but that doesn't get him off the hook! Motorsport is dangerous for competitors and fans, that why the tickets says what it does, and that's with everybody paying attention to the rules and the safety conduct, let alone the ignorant stupidity of Cottle.

The lad is obviously a muppet, he goes by the nick name 'full throttle Cottle' FFS.
That alone tells you all you need to know about the ******* bell end. It wasn't even his own car he was driving !!!!
Imagine if one of those race cars had ploughed into the side of the polo as they left the pits, would he be a legend then you fricken melon.

It's obviously not the same thing (not even close), but this did make me think of a story I heard about Emerson Fittipaldi, who back when they were still racing the things allegedly put his mum in the co-pilot's seat of his Porsche 917 and took her for a spin at 300km/h

Gotta love the 70s.

He was probably correct then. Cheaper (pending any civil action) and probably not as dangerous by a long shot.

"Full throttle Cottle" ? I think that explains how he drives on the road and I for one hope he never gets behind the wheel of another car again. Just another example of scum that this country excels in breeding.

If motorsport is so dangerous when was the last time somone died in a crash During a car race on a British track ? It isn't like he was on a track with F1 cars, they were some ****ty old V dub beetles. Anyway you look at it if they had sponsors that was the closest they came to getting value for money.

Last year.

It does still happen though and there are safety measures put in place to try and prevent injury or death for drivers. Going onto the track during a race in a normal road car with passangers is not just down right dangerous but idiotic. The bloke is a complete tool and should be shot!

To answer your first question, a couple of weeks ago.

Some of those "****ty old Beetles" use VAG diesel turbo engines are are mighty fast.

So a broken link, the first casualty at Le man's since 1997 and one from a year ago an old man in a 1920's Bentley. Your helping to prove my point, I did say on a track in England as well....
