4 yr contract.

C'mon Gazza!

If you had said, after Euro '96, that he would become England manager, you would've been angrily mocked and laughed at. A lot.

Possibly lynched.

lol

It's a funny old world...

He really doesn't.....The guy has done bugger all in football apart from miss a penalty and star in a Pizza advert mocking how bad the penalty was.

.......and before anyone mentions the under 21's, they have always done well. Oh and £8million over 4 years...******* lol!

This is how his time in charge will pan out. England will qualify for the 2018 WC but a poor performance at the finals will see the FA give him another crack at it with the Euros in 2020. Another poor performance will see him sacked and he'll head off with his tail between his legs £8million richer.

We've already had a taste of what his team and tactics will be and it's no better than the guy he succeeds.

I get a bigger buzz sat in the South End at Dean Court chearing on The Cherries, sod England!

"How did it happen dad?"

"It hadn't rained in 2 months, nobody was going to work, everyone was at bbq's all day then in kitchens all night. The English had never seen such a summer. It was the best world cup anyone had ever witnessed, the Germans and the Argies went out early. People finally started to believe. The economy was ****ed, there was bush fires in the north, Winter hill burned as Danny Dyer called David Cameron a **** on live TV, Harry Kane was scoring for fun and Harry Maguire was dribbling out from the back like he was Maldini's younger long lost brother. It was the perfect storm. Civilisation was so finely balanced. Then..."

"Then what, dad?"

"Then, son, football came home"

This "it's comin home" malarkey confuses me.

For something to return,it must have left, but football has been played continuously in England since the 1860s, so it can't be that.

FIFA was started by the French (England wasn't even a founding member!) , the World Cup was started by a French Man, the first trophy bore his name in honour. That was won by England, but after Brazil secured it for ever by winning it in 1970, no one was ever going to bring that home either (indeed, it was stolen and never recovered).

The current trophy has not been won by England.

I'd really like someone to explain what "it" is, and, where "it" has been

Maybe they predicting that France are going to win?

It does seem more likely

The Scooby massive used to turn up mob handed and destroy you in a couple of hours over a couple of pages, nowadays they turn up in dribs and drabs and barely mount a threat.

I think you're safe Mr Fuji
