Yes, this is correct. That's why, something @sskicking radical needs to take place that can break this 'loser' habit.

England's manager is paid £3.9 million a year. Iceland's manager is a part-time dentist.

The right person needs to come along and get a grip of the national game. Other GB sports have been in the same position and have been completely turned around by a total rethink. Examples are Rowing and Cycling where GB had potential but were poor performers. But we are now world beaters in both thanks to a sea change in attitude, coaching and management. Simply appointing another poor sap manager for football and letting him get on with it is surely not the answer.

Shame on England for losing to half-professional part timers.

Goes to show that the big money our footballers get, their glamourised image they hold and their high flying attitude they possess are f**k all, when it comes to playing well on the real pitch against real players.

I'm not one to defend incompetence or lack of effort, but you have to bear in mind that for most professional players, walking on the pitch for the national side is very much a hobby activity, next to the 9-5 job of twice weekly (or more) matches for the clubs that pay them their real wages. From that perspective, it's not surprising in a way that Iceland's part-timers had more left to give than a side full of players worn out from long seasons in the Premiership, Bundesliga, or wherever.

That said, the amount Hodgson is paid by the FA is nothing short of scandalous.

On that basis then we should perhaps recruit England's players from small local teams rather than league teams! That makes no sense, although from tonight's efforts we might as well adopt that method.

But seriously there is a great deal to be learned from how successful team sports work, but perhaps the FA is too proud to ask for help. Raw talent is only small part of the success equation as we have just found out.

Mark, I find it difficult to defend our full time players with the excuse of them being worn out from their long sessions in other events. It can be argued that for the very reason, our players should be in their best form, well attuned; physically and mentally, absolutely focused and well-accustomed to deal with the pressures of the competitive interaction on the international football pitch.

The problem lies within the FA. THEY appoint, or fail to appoint, the England manager, and they are a bunch of stuffed shirts.

I'm in London once again; staying at Kensington n' Chelsea. Very close to Harrods. Tell you what, no one, I mean not a single Londoner that I've talked here today took the slightest interest in this ENG footie match. I wanted some enthusiasm from them, but got none back. Perhaps Londoners don't like footie.
Ahh that's probably because London has secretly joined the United Kingdom of Scotland, Northern Ireland and London

The problem lies with the fact that England is just s**t at football and that has been the case since 1966! The sooner everyone accepts this, then the sooner we can start to make a plan to make England less s**t!

Let's see what happens tomorrow. I can't wait!

I reckon Belgies will thrash Wales like this rain has thrashed us of late. I hear that Belgium has very many good players whereas Wales only has Bale and Ramsey to show for. Taylor is not that good. He was just lucky to score that time against.... I can't remember who.

Anyway, we'll see. I've bought some pop corns already.

Dude, I do support Wales. I live in Wales, so I obviously do. I am dead loyal, me.

Anyway, is that true that some people hate Bale because he's good looking? Someone said that the other day, so I thought I should ask here.

Exactly my thought, but even then, he has beautiful piercing eyes, looks good with a pony bun and facial hair (he hides his chin with that) and he obviously has a stick insect like super athletic fitness. He can do modelling for BHS 'everything must go' sale tbh, if he likes.

Yeah, I only posted that for throwaway ****s and giggles.

But to hell with his 'handsome' (or otherwise) head, though...... I'd sooner take his earnings, thank you very much!
