Guess using the third most popular OS has its benefit

The good news is that already today we have made some extra business by sorting out all the panic installing of random AV software by clients. Keeps us busy

All the more reason to keep backup and disk mirrors/snapshots.

That's the first thing I do before I put a computer/device into use: update the os, install all the software, organise everything how I like it (like create a separate user data partition - which incidentally crypto locker misses). Then take a full image back up.

Then if anything messes up, be it dodgy registry, drivers, hardware failure or viruses. I can get a computer back to how I like it in 30mins. System restore is ok, but it is a bit limited in comparison.

crypto locker misses something as simple as d:\userdata

and yet I am told can encrypt a NAS file store - when presented as a share
