Silver Aston Martin Vanquish
******ANNOUNCEMENT************
Im starting a group buy for the newly developed SCD!!!!
"Whats this?" I hear you all ask,
its the new 'Speed Cut Defenser'
specifically designed to limit speed to 10mph unless it detects that the car in front is pushing out less than 50bhp @ the wheels then it goes into scramble mode & lets you run 33mph for 30 seconds, just enough to get you past the car in front but whilst keeping you just on the edge of the speed limit.
A must for all you scoob enthusiasts!!!
Or alternatively, just grow up!!
I'm sure we can put this to bed now before it gets anymore boring.

Scooby drivers already have a bad name & so do many other drivers of sporty performance cars. I drive mine hard around country roads away from built up areas.
Country roads are just as dangerous as built up areas especially with 60MPH limits, narrow roads and blind bends.
Head-on ??
If you want to drive hard then thats fine but when it may involve endangering other ppl carelessly ?? THATS when I disagree as they have no choice in the matter (no I aint rferring to the Vanquish driver here).
I was simply taking the pi22, I`m still laughing now at the fact that someone tried to compare a Scooby to an Aston Martin!! There is no comparison IN ANY DEPARTMENT.
IF the Aston Martin wanted a race you would not have seen it for dust.
If your gunna race stick with the Nova boys at Sarfend. They are fair game and will rise to the challenge unlike the big boys toys who know what they have got and dont need to use it.

Doc. One more time just incase you missed it the first. "NO ONE IS COMPARING AN ASTON MARTIN TO A SCOOB" as you said yourself there is no comparison in build, Looks & shear grunt. One place where there is comparison is in the Drivers. Give five people the exact same car & at least one will excell & lose the others for dust!!
Doc,
Not necessarily so. Scoobs aren't Astons in most departments, but i've been in a few Scoobs which would DEFINITELY give an Aston a run for it's money, performance-wise. Even in my moderately-modded WRX, i was able to keep up with a 308GTB Ferrari not long ago, and mine feels positively slow compared to some i've been in.

granted it was parked up at the side of the road and the guy was in his house totally unawares I was even there... But it all counts..
get a life sad sacks...

Alpine,
That comment adds value to the discussion, doesn't it?
Why would anyone own a high performance car if they weren't going to use it once in a while, and talk about it on here?
If you don't like that sort of thread, why not just ignore it rather than calling those involved sad-sacks?

Tel,
no real offense meant.. I just think the double standards are laughable.. when a 'nova boy' takes us on he's ridiculed.. When we take on a Vanquish we're cool.. because we're showing him what exactly?? That for a ninth the price he paid he could go as fast... I'm sure he appreciated the lesson and has duly traded his motor.. just like I'm going out and trading mine for a 10 year old nova..
Sure a good driver in a lesser car can beat a bad driver in a greater car.. but until you're on the track who knows who the better driver is? Is he the one who dares to go faster on public roads? Ever thought that the Vanquish was using half his available throttle because doing 190 on public roads to **** off a scooby A) wasn't safe B)wasn't worth the effort C) he really didn't care if someone came past because he was secure in his manhood and didn't need to prove himself to anyone.. Hey he can afford to buy and run a Vanquish..
Good luck to him.. Where's me pipe?

Ok, NOT joining the flame war here....
Did the Aston have a plate something like 1 DPR ? If so, then we saw it at the Formula 1 testing yesterday... and it belongs to Dave Richards, boss of Prodrive and BAR!!
Gooooorgeous car
Just curious

Different sort of car. The bloke in the Aston probably mutterd to himself "Peasant". As a loud, brash, sooped-up boy racer was screaming along the road beside him. I've had the odd race (legal of course) however some choose not too.
To be perfectly honest, on a less than decent road you would have blown it away due to the scoobies rapid "point to point" performance. Keep trying - there is a crew that go cruising in white cars with a blue and yellow paintjob with stickers; they are ALWAYS up for a race ;-)

Vanquish isn't that much quicker!! I'd say that on "less than perfect roads" STI and Evo would lash it!!
